Commercial Description:
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew. Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh roasted coffee nose toped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.

12 oz. bottle. Pours an oily viscous opaque black with a thin, brown head that quickly dissipates to a small rim with little lacing. Big nose of coffee and roasted malt. That’s pretty much it. Flavor is roasted and chocolate malts with fruity and sweet notes at the end. The finish is bitter, well into the after, but not over the top. This is balanced-ish, a touch high on roast that stunts the ability for the dark fruits to shine through. Tasty stout, though.

12oz bottle into a snifter glass. Pours jet black with a small tan head. Smells of choco and patent malts with a blend of coffee bean. Nice mouthfeel, medium body, a little light on the carbonation. Rich choco malts with a bitter coffee finish. Beautiful stout.

12oz bottle. Smell of Intense dark roasted, slightly bitter, coffee aroma. Dark baker’s chocolate. A slight milky creaminess in the nose.So Creamy, I smelled it every sip I took. Black pour. No highlights. Dark tan head was thick and creamy, but dissipated fairly quickly. Good lacing. A lot of the flavors from the nose return in the flavor. Coffee, cocoa, a little milky sweetness. Full bodied and creamy. Moderate carbonation. Slight astringency on sides of mouth. Some alcohol warmth in back of the mouth. One of my top Stouts.....Only if Young’s Oatmeal Stout was still available.

Bottle. Black with a small tan head. A lot of coffee in the aroma also some licorice and dark chocolate. The taste was totally dominated by coffee. (espresso) Also roasted malt, chocolate and licorice. Nice mouthfeel and the aftertaste was long and quite bitter. A very good beer.

Poured pitch black, very small reddish-brown head that cleared fast. Strong aroma of chocolate and strawberries. Tastes like dark chocolate, a bit sour, with light coffee-like bitterness on the finish, and lingering sweetness. Heavy body that coats the mouth, and leaves a sticky residue. Flavors are excellently balanced. Wonderful chocolate stout.

Intensely dark stout, thick with a small brown head. Aromas of malt, coffee, and hops; taste is sweet, malty, rich, lots of roasted flavors add a bit of astringency. Mouthfeel is as thick as maple syrup, sticky, but this beer doesn’t nauseate like some overly heavy counterparts. Excellent strong stout.

Bottled. Black colour with pale brown head. A fluffy layer of big bubbles tops a thin layer of creamish foam. Aroma is that of a good Arabian coffee with notes of green pepper up front and chocolate behind. Not fantastic, but really good. Mouthfeel is creamy and chewy, and there are significant notes of dark chocolate at a first sip. The flavour is really nice, it’s milky and peppery at the same time, bit of acidity from the black malts as well. It does lean towards an Imperial Stout but being or feeling somewhat low in bitterness I get a feel of Foreign Stout. The milk has its share here. Cocoa biter but not immense. Really balanced beer. I like coffee. Then be it coffee. However, the coffee and the pepper did not take over here. Great beer!

Odor slightly ashyc and caffeinated, withcaramel salt in the background. The mouth is also coffee, ashes. No real bitterness around here. This beer lacks personality and subtlety. It was not the level of stouts produced by the European like Struise or Mikkeller. A bit boring to drink because it has a uniform unglamorous side.

Wow! Floral hoppiness and some smoke in the aroma. Decent tan head dissipates slowly. Loads of coffee, chocolate, and brown sugar goodness. Slightly sweet, but not girly. Slick mouthfeel, medium-high density. Clean finish. Without a doubt, this was the champion at our local stoutfest last weekend. Everything you’ve heard.
