A crystal clear amber color on the pour, the head monstrous in size, creamy in texture, a winsome light tan in color and the lace a velvety sheet to conceal the glass. Sweet malt, the aroma of hops, citrus crisp and a real treat to the old schnozzle, start sweet and malt laden, the top is light to middling in its feel. Finish is delicately acidic, the hops are prickly in their spicy bite, a mid-range IPA, not overpowering, just plain drinkable.

Mar 16, 2010 Pours a cloudy orange with a thin white head. Aromas of biscuit, caramel, grains and faint stale hops; flavor is about the same, only with a metalic aftertaste. This is not very good at all...maybe i got a 6 that had been sitting around for awile.

Jan 1, 2010 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Brennan’s Country Farm Market in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear golden amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of biscuit caramel malt, some roasted nuts and a hint of grassy hops. Flavor is medium to full bodied, nice balance of caramel malt and grassy hops, and a touch of fruit. Finish is semi-dry with a biscuit and mild bitterness. Definitely more malt than citrus flavors and a short lived bitterness. Seems to be much tame compared to the Mongoose IPA I tried back in 2007.

Dec 27, 2009 Hazy orange, thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet fruit and dull hops. Taste is old hops, plain and watery texture. This bottle is definitely past date.

Dec 21, 2009 One of the WORST IPA’s i have ever had. I have been buying different IPA’s both Macro and Micro for the past 2 years or so and this might be the worst i have had, i actually poured the last 1.5 of them down the drain! No aroma worth much, good color, ok head, good lacing, HORRID flavor! It was like it was in the bottle for 3 years or something. Not good stuff...

Dec 19, 2009 Murky amber with a tin white dissipating head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, grains and a mild off flavor. Taste of citrus and floral hops with caramel to balance it out. Mild bitter finish. Ho-hum.

Nov 28, 2009 Amber-orange and clear with a fizzy white cap. Aroma is this ale’s strength with a nice amount of grapefruit, light floral hops, orange, and pine with a little toffee. Citrus dominates the flavor, mildly resinous with just a hint of earth and wood. Mouth feel is medium, smooth with lively carbonation and an elongated finish. This one went down fast without cause for a break. Very nice IPA.
