COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A classic robust porter spiced with all-natural toasted coconut and award winning locally-grown and roasted Hamakua Coast White Mountain Coffee. Black in color and crowned with a creamy, dark tan head, toasted coconut and roasted coffee aromas are followed by hints of rich, silky dark malt and chocolate; balanced with hoppy spice finish.

Bottle shared by Allen, thanks! Pours near black with a a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of coffee and roasted malts with dark grains and coconut underlying. Flavor has combines coffee and coconut with a big dark grain backbone.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (chocolate, roasted grain, coffee), with notes of vanilla, coconut, bile, sour apple. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The first bottle I bought (at Foodland in Kapa’a) was insanely infected...nothing but foam on pouring and ridiculously sour. This bottle (from the wine market in Lihu’e) is infected as well, but not nearly as badly. It’s still quite sour and unpleasant, but obviously this is a recurring problem that needs fixing. Sad because they appear to be good brewers, maybe just not the best sanitizers yet.

Sample at GABF 2014. Comes dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of malt, coffee, and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, and just a touch of coconut. Tasty.

Sampled at GABF 2014. Pours a deep brown body with thin off white head, thick foamy lacing. Aroma is coffee and roast. Light sugar. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of coffee dominating; pretty straightforward coffee-porter with light notes of vanilla and coconut. Additionally, gentle malt on the palate.

Dark brown. Thin head. Aroma is a bit thin. Coconut and coffee, a bit oily, a little dark sugary malt... Kind of simple

Pours black with a brownish white head. Nose has coconut and roasted malt. Taste is fairly burnt even for a porter with coffee and chocolate. Aftertaste is lingering coffee.

Brown and opaque with a mocha head. Not a lot of aroma. Flavor roasty with a bit of coffee but very little coconut. Not bad but after tasting several coconut porters, homebrewed and commercial, this didn’t quite meet my expectations.

On draught at Big Island Brewhaus. Deep brown color. Aroma is roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is similar to aroma, with hints of citrus also. Flavorful and smooth porter.

Bomber via Lubiere served cold in a tulip glass shared with friends. Deep brown black with a decent ashen tan head. Lots of rich coffee, dark chocolate notes, not getting much in the way of coconut, a bit tangy. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Lots of coffee, a bit tangy, less dark chocolate than the nose, a little cooked green pepper; dry with moderate bitterness and light tang, coconut shows up well in the finish. Might be an early infection...Not bad.

Sampled from a bomber from the local Safeway. A nice brew, roasted well. Crisp as you would expect from an island brew, but really enjoyable roasted flavor.
