Bottle. Clear amber color with huge wite head. Malt, caramel, ginger in aroma. Sweet malty taste with caramel, ginger, lot of ginger

Bottle at home. Dark chestnut with a thin pale brown head. It obviously has ginger in aroma and flavour some cakey maltiness. Didn’t find it offensive but interested in having again.

Bottle. Bronze and clear appearance. Ginger flavours dominate although there is a trace of citrus. A novelty alcoholic ginger beer with a body.

500 ml bottle bought at Aeon in KCP, Kowloon City.

Clear deep amber red colour; Half finger head and soapy off-white foam which lasts about 40 seconds; Small sticky lacing with fizzy carbonation; Very sweet aroma of ginger, ginger beer, spices, light malt, sugar and floral; Medium sweet taste of very light ale malt, with ginger zest, molasses, light red fruits, light biscuits, spices, soda water, and faint grass; Light body, close to watery palate; Mouth feel has a basic ginger beer pop feel but not quite, as malt taste is light but apparent, with some pretty good light bread and biscuit dryness. Ginger zest taste has bites but rather dull and not refreshing. Sweet taste permeates but not cloying; Hoppiness is some choking floral and spicy nose, slight grass with no citrus taste, and some hint of bitterness. All for sweet zesty gingery finish; Slightly dry after taste, very easy to mouth.

Comments: Initially I feared this would just be another alco-pop in disguise. Turns out it’s a proper beer - very light malt in taste but with right feel, ginger taste has bite but not exciting, and not cloying at all, which is surprising. This one passed the test quite easily and intended to be a macro crowd pleaser. With a bit of adjustments, it can be way better. Still drinkable.

Bottle at home from marks and Spencer. Aroma is spicey woody sweet ginger. Touch of cara malt sweetness. Pour is copper colour clear andyhin short lived white head. Flavour is woody bark sweet stale malt and a ginger heat in the finish. Too sweet. Medium body medium carbed.

Bottled 13/07/13. A dark brown beer with an off-white head. This is way too sweet. A reasonable kick of ginger for sure but it’s dominated bgy a sugary effect. The aroma doesn’t promise such sweetness; it instead has pleasant ginger, but I really struggle with the flavours.

500ml bottle from B&M. Beer-like appearance: ruby with a fine, well-retained cream foam. Lemonade/shandy aroma becoming peppery. Reasonable spike of ginger on the lips; ginger nut and Jamaican ginger cake sweetness; some afterburn and digestive notes. Approaching medium spicy. Not getting any hops whatsoever but come on, this is Robinson’s. Overly sugared with a splash too much shandy but enjoyably spans the gap between ginger beer and real beer.

Bottled, 500ml from Morrisons, Banbury. Reddish amber with slight head. Sweet and gingery I suppose, lemonade notes with a spicy background. No real beery notes, more an alcopop.

Hand pump in Kings Head, Clapham. Nose is caramel, lemonade citrus, fresh ginger, ale fruity, leather. Taste is grainy cereal malty, leather, citrous lemon, fresh ginger, ale fruity. Body is very light, watery, and prickly hops.

Bottle 500ml.

Clear medium amber red colour with a small, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, brown sugar, ginger, spicy and ginger. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, ginger bread. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111202]
