Commercial Description:
This is a hoppy IPA. Did I say hops? Your brewer is a hop head! This is a full bodied beer using American grains. The goal was to create a base for showing off the unique floral qualities of two Pacific Northwest hops, Columbus and Cascade. Columbus is a new hybrid High Alpha Acid hop used mostly for bittering, but used heavily as an aromatic in this strong brew. Cascade is the balance that ties the malt and bittering hops together. It is a true specialty ale and is our brewer’s statement on this style. 2004 L.A. Commercial Brewing Competition, Silver Medal Winner; 2004 World Beer Cup, Silver Medal Winner; 2001 Real Ale Festival, San Diego, Gold Medal Winner; 2001 Real Ale Festival, Chicago, Gold Medal Winner; 1999 Great Amercian Beer Festival, Gold Medal Winner - og 1.070, ABV 7.0%, IBU 69. this is a very well balanced IPA. the hops aren’t over-the-top, but there good. This is a great tasring - easy drinking beer, I think an easy drinking beer means it’s a ’session’ beer. Bear republic is nothing less the impressive.

Big thanks to bierkoning for this one! The bottle looks simple but good, the beer in the glass as well. Starts intense flowery-hoppy, wonderful grasy-woody. Modest dry without being too much. Finish spicy-hoppy, intense aftertaste. Very good one!

Golden pour from bottle. Spicey nose, with notes of grapefruit. Citrus taste, with a well balanced profile of hops. Very nice IPA from the excellent Bear Republic Brewing Co.

Bottle thanks to aplusbreaks. Pour is light caramel color with a thin off-white head. This beer is lightly citrusy and resinous with sweet malt and pepper. Easy to drink

Bottle bonus thanks to aplusbreaks. Clear golden yellow pour, lasting carbonation/head and pleasant fruity hops aroma. Flavor was also lighter oranges, peaches and some hops. Not as uber hoppy as a lot of other IPA’s, but tasty nonetheless.

Draft at Fergie’s in Philadelphia. Pours clear gold with a long lasting white head. Aroma comes in waves of bright, citrusy hops. Flavor features a hop presence that’s sharp but not biting, balanced by a light and clear malt sweetness. Finishes crisp and always invites the next sip. Fantastic.

Nice head, amber body, out of a 12oz bottle. Head settles at 3/8" and stays there a while. Strong lacing. Big bright hop flower nose- cascade out front. Complex bitter taste. Develops citrus, spice. Enjoyable. Refreshing soft palate contrasts with the cutting bite of the hops. Not bad-- but definitely APA not IPA
