| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 25, 2010 Draught into a chalice. Pours dark russet, with big off-white head. Dark fruits, caramel and yeast notes on the nose, with similar on the palate with added notes of chocolate and spices. Fairly light mouthfeel, and a decent attempt at a Scotch Ale overall. drjay44 (865), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jan 23, 2010 750 ml. bottle. Shared with Gabe. Poooours an initially exuberant, the collapsing off white head, with slight lacing, over a moderately cloudy amber (SRM 10) body.... nose is heavy with sweet malt (toffee/caramel) and light dried fruit (raisin, cherry, plum)....taste is sweet dried fruits, with some carmel, brown sugar finishing with a light hop bitterness.....mouth feel is light, carbonation low. This is slightly light in mouth feel compared to many of the typical Scotch Ales, but it has all of the characteristics in the stlye. It is not a malt rich as some, but again, it is all there.
