Commercial Description:
Celis White has been revived by Michigan Brewing Company with the blessing of its founder and his daughter, Christine Celis. The original Celis White, brewed in Austin, TX by Pierre Celis during the early and mid 1990's, ceased production when Mr. Celis closed his Austin microbrewery and moved to Belgium.

Hazy yellow pour with a foamy white head. Smells of candi sugar, orange and lemon zest, banana and some yeastiness. Sweet, somewhat cloying flavor with lots of banana esters, candi sugar, light citrus and s slightly sour finish. Medium body., a little sticky.

Appearance: Yellowy grey. Lots of head, initially. Aroma: Wheaty, lemony. Flowery. Hops. Caramel? Taste: Pretty hopsy, not too wheaty. Flowery. Surprisingly good. Info: 250ml bottle, 7/12-2006, 121/500

This wonderful beer has thankfully been revived and is available in Texas. Puts Hoogarden to shame. 10/07 Celis beers brewed by Michigan Brewing Co. are no longer available in Texas. Repeated attempts to contact the brewery were unsuccessful. Our bad...

Pale cloudy yellow and a very white head. Plenty of requisite spicy, lemony and yeasty aromas. Fairly light and soft with a good blend of cloves and wheat. Hints of citrus and subtle maltiness makes this taste like a summer day. Somewhat astringent, dry finish is balanced by lingering zesty fruit. Almost as good as a Hoegaarden.

Head dissapppeared pretty quichly. real light body (of course) Light malts some banannas and dry barley. A bit of spice, coriander. Some cloying helpd to hold flavors longer, improved substantially as it warmed. Citrucy and sweet, wheaty and smooth. Not too bad on a summer evening when the sun is going down and it's finally starting to cool down.

Pours lightly hazy gold with a one-finger, large-bubbled head. Wheat dominates the aroma, which is rounded out by some coriander and citrus. Very citrusy, fruity flavor. Good. Extra points because it doesn’t taste like every single other Witbier out there.

Cloudy pepperiness with hints of lemon. A bit weak and overly carbonated--I waited for it to warm but it didn't get any better.

Bottle, hazy straw pale yellow pour. Citrusy and orange aroma and flavors, with a proportionate amount of spices. Also picked up hints of lemon.
