UPDATED: DEC 31, 2021 Bevuta in bottiglia. Birra dal colore dorato. Buoni aromi e molto corposa. L'alcool si sente ma non infastidisce. Molto buona. Fine anno con colpo della strega!

Bottle, bottled on 20/03/15. Shelf "cellared" at the local bottle shop. Nice King Crimson homage on the label! Hazy deep golden body, small head. Aroma has biscuits soaked in pickle water... oh no, the back label confirms this has Sorachi Ace in it. Sweet and mildly fruit-sour taste with overripe coconut-like Sorachi and biscuity malts. Pretty messy. I drank it all but didn't really enjoy it. They tried to make a "prog" beer but ended up with a "Phil Collins solo years" beer. Maybe with proper cellaring it would have ended up a bit different but with this hop varietal I don't think the outcome would have been any better. I will be putting on some early 70's prog records because of this though.

W zapachu mocno karmelowo, landrynki, lekki metal. Do tego są kandyzowane owoce, dojrzałe jabłko. Miód. Nie najgorzej. W smaku bardzo słodko. Miód i karmel. Nie jest za to przesadnie pełne, nawet powiedziałbym, że lekko wodniste. Podobne nuty do tego co w aromacie. Dojrzałe owoce, kandyzowany cukier, lekko cytrusy i żywica. Goryczka nawet wyczuwalna, niezbyt wysoka ale przyjemna. Dobrze zbalansowane. Bardzo fajnie pijalne. Alko troszkę wychodzi. Nisko nasycone. Niezłe

330ml bottle. Clear dark amber, small white head. Nose is sweet, caramel, toasty-biscuity malt notes, coconut from the sorachi, rotten strawberry from the sorachi, sickly sweetness from the sorachi, I just don't like sorachi. Flavor is sweet and boozy, and boy does the booze kick in in the late finish to aftertaste. The taste itself is, again, sweet, some malt in there, vanilla, caramel... It's passable, but the sorachi and the massive boozy bitterness...

Color naranja, turbio, con capa de espuma blanca de un dedo de grosor (poca retención). Carbonatación suave. Textura oleosa. Aroma a malta caramelizada, miel, especias, ligerísimos toques cítricos y un mínimo de alcohol (super suave teniendo en cuenta sus 11%). Sabor dulzón, con mucha malta caramelizada, miel, frutos secos, lúpulo (aportando cítricos y ligero amargor al final). Postgusto dulzón. Extraño Barley Wine que, en teoría, aguantará 20 años. Extraño, complejo y, además, muy suave. Cerveza engañosa y riquísima.

Bottle 33cl. from twentsewijnhandel.nl, poured into a snifter. Slightly unclear medium amber, small fizzy off-white head, dissipates quickly, fair lacing; aroma roasted malt, caramel, honey, tangerine, alcohol, earthy and spicy notes; taste light heavy sweet and medium bitter, malty, honey, fortified wine, bit wood, peppery; malty sweetbitter aftertaste, sugary, woody, spicy notes, warming alcohol; full-bodied, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation; heavy duty stuff but well-balanced and rich of aroma and taste.

A fantasy of a beer style, although it is not one of my favorites. I am accustomed to heavier beers with water. Is the only thing I missed. Maybe it needs a little contindència. But it is a good beer.

33 cl. bottle (bought from Birrificio Indipendente Elav, Bergamo Airport). It is deep amber/light copper coloured with minimal off-white head. Its aroma is nice but weak: caramel, citrus, honey, herbal notes. I really liked the taste: well-balanced -- bittersweet with some lingering sourness. It is medium-bodied and creamy-textured with an average carbonation. Finish is quite bitter and a bit tiring. A good beer but not outstanding.
