Plenty of cinnamon and allspice on the nose with a little nutmeg. Medium body. Nice pumpkin flavor, but not full blown like some others. Better than last years version. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 6, 2010 12oz, bottled Sept 10, 2009. Pours amber with a one finger off white head, reduces to a whispy covering, leaves very little lace. Doesn’t really look like a brown ale, too light. Aroma is heavily spiced, like gingerbread cookies, nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin, some caramel, bread and grains. Flavor is sweet and spiced, sweet caramel malts and ginger, cinnamon, pumpkin. Spice lingers on the finish. Mouthfeel is slick, medium bodied, medum carbonation. As far as spiced beers goes, I put this somewhere between Anchor OSA (very good) and Sweetwater Festive Ale (OK). angrypirate06 (974), Texas, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 30, 2010 Bottle poured into a Sam Adams glass produced a finger worth of white head that goes to a lace. The body of the brew was amber in color.
There is a big old cinnamon and nutmeg aroma coming of the glass. The flavor is like the pumpkin pie I ate this weekend.
Medium feel in my mouth and good carbonation for my tongue
I am not a big fan of the style but this one isn’t that bad Leighton (365), New York, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 22, 2010 Bottle. A great pumpkin beer. Pours a medium amber with a crisp, white head. Autumnal aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and sugary malts. Flavor follows a similar profile: spicy with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg, with some malty sweetness and just a tad of bitter bite. Nice, spicy, pumkiny aftertaste. Body is medium and seems substantial. Solid pumpkin beer. Not too big, not too small. Quintessential. curly (1035), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 22, 2010 Clear orange, foamy short lived head. Aroma of cinnamon, pumpkin and other spices. Taste is sharp spice, pumpkin, not overly sweet. Not bad for a style that I don’t care much for. This is more like beer first, then pumpkin rather than some ultra sweet pumpkin beer. 0o9i (347), Reno, Nevada, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 10, 2010 12oz. Clear, copper-colored body with an off-white head of creamy texture, small stature, and impenetrable--completely obscuring the top of the beer. No lace. The aroma is caramel malts and a bunch of spices, most notably allspice and nutmeg, smells a bit like pumpkin pie filling. There’s also a touch of honey and must, like one would find somewhere underground, moist, and with a lot of dirt present. Medium-full body with plentiful, soft carbonation and a dry finish. The flavor is lightly sweet with sugar and packing a bouquet of spices. Allspice and nutmeg ring through, a mild cinnamon-like astringency on the finish, light pumpkin notes, woody hops. I really didn’t like this at first on account of the tremendous spiciness, but it’s killed my poor palate and tastes pretty nice by now. That musky smell tastes sour and dusty. Slight alcohol notes, pleasant ones. One is enough for me. taphandle (92), Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 6, 2010 Color seemed amber (I was in a dark bar) and the head was off-white. It smelled of spices, including nutmeg. The taste was silghtly of spices and was actually a bit mild compared with most Dogfish Head brews I’ve tried. There was a slight alcohol feel and the spice taste didn’t seem as strong as the spice aroma. It was actually quite drinkable compared to other Dogfish Head offerings.
