Bottle in Pueblo with my Dad. Pour is pitxh black with a small brown head and good lacing. Vanilla, slightly ashy, some cocoa, toasted bread, toffee, and roasted brown sugar in the aroma. Taste is rich dark chocolate, some cinnamon, light smoke, some caramel, espresso, rich sugar, and some spice with a rich finish. Thick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Pretty tasty.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured a dark, almost black brown color with a small dark tan head. Aroma was lots of roasted malts, boozy bitter 92% bakers chocolate, dark fruits, cane sugar notes. Flavor was molasses, burnt malts, roasted notes. Some light creamy notes, with lots of booze. I see the appeal, the hipster name, the hype around it, the Evil Twin price tag... but it was just okay to me.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Draft. Thick and black as melted cacao, topped with a dense sandy tan head. Leaves brown, oily legs on the glass upon swirling. Aroma is smoky bacon, honey-roasted peanuts, vanilla, caramel, medium-roast coffee. The flavor is like a maple-dipped piece of bacon with a fudge and coffee finish. The oily brew lingers on the tongue for a long while. Jesus, this is good.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Torst, Brooklyn. Opaque black color, small brownish head. Aroma has roasted malts, alcohol and brown sugar. Full-bodied. Very sweet, dark fruits, candy sugar, some licorice in the finish. Swertness covers the alcohol. Port-version was much more interesting. Maybe this is not so good batch.

Off or adjunct notes in the nose carry over to the flavor.
The mildly bitter flavor has hints of coffee, dark fruits, over-ripe bananas, and other soft fruits.

On tap at Westbrook tasting room. OMG. Amazing. Everything an imperial stout can and should be. Simple yet incredibly complex. Jet black opaque imposing pour. Nice reddish tan head. Roasty malts, chocolate, coffee, earthy and pleasantly boozy. Thick and full mouthfeel.
Lingering sweetness in the long finish. Great balance. A work of art.
