Schlenkerla29 (2353) - Sevilla, SPAIN - APR 8, 2023
Gehobener Durchschnitt.

atpsynthase (241) - SINGAPORE - FEB 17, 2023
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2023 500 ml can from Hao Supermarket. Pours a one finger yellow head. Aroma of not much, perhaps just a little noble hops Lingering coffee flavours on the end, in addition to the hops; the usual roasted malt otherwise. High but supporting carbonation.

LagerGuide122 (909) - - FEB 18, 2020
UPDATED: FEB 18, 2020 500ml bottle brewed in Germany at 5%. Ultra dark toffee brown, pseudo-black in the glass. Small, good-duration head. Aroma of sweetcorn and tangy toast. Low carbonation. Slightly thin texture, meaning you can just about tell its unfiltered with your tongue - the effect is quite nice. Grassy, zingy hops and then pow! Roast, toast and caramel malts kick in, just as it says on the label. I've often felt too many Dunkels were a bit hop-focused considering the style is defined by its malt, and this bucks the trend. Lovely flavour, lovely balance, not too much or little of anything. Hints of chocolate in the malt at the end, which takes pains not to be too sweet. Ayinger's Dunkel might bring more to the table for the connoisseur, and Augustiner's is right up there, but (Original) Ur-Dunkel is a fitting title for this beer - if you order a Dunkel, deep down you want and expect something like this. The Dunkel's Dunkel. Which naturally means it's great paired with food, say, a ham and cheese sandwich. Yum. Paulaner might just be my fav of Munich's big brewers alongside Augustiner.

BeerandBlues2 (20239) - Woodland Park, Colorado, USA - JAN 12, 2020
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2020 Draught. Pours clear dark brown with tawny hues and a large, bubbly beige head, long retention with light lacing. Medium dark bread malt, chocolate notes, light hop bitterness, and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.
