A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

Bottle from bhensonb. Pours cloudy blonde with a thick white head and a toffee aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor with a fairly bitter finish. Very refreshing.

Draft at World of Beer Viera. Full-bodied malt backbone with plenty of dry hoppiness up front. Above-average example of an American IPA.

Draft from old chicago. From notes. Citrus, bready malt, dried apricot. Surprisingly awesome. Probably the best beer I’ve had from these guys.

Bottled May 10, 2014.
Appearance: Crystal clear golden body with a pillowy white persistent head.
Aroma: Orange and grapefruit come to mind instantly, clean out of the way malt base. Slightly bright, though the aroma is a little shy.
Taste: Clean body, malts are out of the way. Hops are grassy and mildly citrus of grapefruit with a touch of orange. The bitterness is mild. This is just a clean IPA.
Palate: Crisp with moderate to high carbonation.
Overall: Crisp and clean, well executed, but I’m not in love. The price is decent though and I would recommend this to someone looking for a bright IPA to kick back with.

Bottle @ Village Inn, Orlando FL. Unclear yellow body with a medium white head. Fruity, pine, hops, light malt. I’m surprised with this one.

The aroma right from the bottle is very citrusy but it dissipates quickly... The taste however is very citrusy with lots of orange rind flavor... however most hop heads are going to find this brew a bit tame on the bitter front as the primary hop notes are in the taste and not the bitterness.... overall, it’s solid but not exceptional... one might find this brew in a pale ale contest ... with fatigued judges...

kramer (4856) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 5, 2014
Bottle. Pours a clear gold body under a one inch frothy off-white head that had pretty nice retention. The nose is lightly citrusy with some caramel and bready maltiness. The flavor is on the lighter side as far as the hops go, which is all that matters for an IPA. Just a mild bitterness level, making for a not especially delicious or bright beer. This is more on the level of an APA. Light bodied and thinnish for the style, soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty far down on the list as far as IPAs go.

growler fill from brewery; decent IPA, more on the fruity side, pretty hoppy and dry, decent flavor, something you could drink a lot of.

Bottle. Nice hop aroma with hints of citrus. Very strong bitter punch that overpowers any more subtle hop or malt flavors. It mellowed slightly as I worked by way through it, but was still too bitter and dry for my tastes.

On tap poured a clear deep gold hue w/ medium white head slowly diminishing to a ring w/ minimal lacing. Big floral hop aromas. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a bold bitter finish of moderate duration. Tastes are tangerine, white grapefruit, and light straw. Light to medium bodied, balanced mouthfeel and pleasant carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
