Aroma of chocolate and earthiness. Flavor was a lot of sweetness. Almost too sweet and not very hoppy. This was also very thin and watery. Not too bad I never seem to be that big of a fan of bocks of doppelbocks though.

Bottle: Columbus tasting shared by moejuck. Dark brown pour with a small light tan head. Aroma was earthy, and sweet. Flavor, sweet, caramel, chocolate, some spice, and a earthiness to the finish. One of the better left hand beers I’ve had.

750ml bottle shared at Columbus 2.0 tasting by moejuck! - Thanks! - Pours caramel colored with a short offwhite head that stays well and laces some. Aromas of caramel, chocolate and lots of earthy notes. Flavor is quite earthy but also is accented with caramel and chocolate and some odd light spice on the finish. Quite sweet all the way through. Pretty well carbonated and medium bodied. Not too bad..

A wonderful dopplebock brewed here by the boys and girls at left hand. This beer has made me want to try their others such as the juju ginger and cow stout. I would have to say though out of the three the dobblebock was the best style. More on this later...

Pours a transparent copper mahogany with a thin off-white head. Sweet, authentic dark caramel malty aroma with good German lager yeasty character. Body starts with a nice viscous caramel sweetness and good lager yeasty flavor with a decently balanced, but slightly tart finish.

Well this is no celebrator. I don’t know what it is with bocks and that strong vegetal hint of earthiness that is reminscent of boiled corn. The malt profile is syrupy and sweet and is like drinking a can of soda. Not overly complex and finishes slightly sour and vinous.
