Commercial Description:
With its amber-mahogany coloring and streaked with fine top-fermented yeast, this beer has a fine, persistent head that adheres well to the glass. It is pleasantly fruity with a typical top-fermented smell, an aroma of clove and nutmeg apple tantalizes the nose. On the tongue it is fresh, clean, full-bodied, harmonious and well-balanced. It finishes with a light, delicate taste of bitters leaving behind a sour impression.

Appearance: Cloudy orange color with muddy-brown sediments. Huge, creamy, slightly off-white head on it. Thick and cohesive head texture.
Aroma: Fresh citrusy on the nose. Balanced banana and bublegum notes. Moderate to low spiciness.
Flavor: Active citrusy tartness all through. Moderate banana estery level with decent bubblegum notes. Pleasant, almost peppery yeasty(?) spiciness.
Mouthfeel: Lively, but moderate carbonation. Almost sticky yeasty texture. Light to medium bodied.
Overall Impression: Authentic, fresh, quenching, Bavarian Hefeweizen.

Aroma for a hefeweizen the aroma is really small, but the usual culprits are here - the banana, clove, and malts. The appearance is a bit of the norm of hefeweizens with a darker clouded brownish color. The head is originally huge, and then settles down to a wispy white head about a 1/4" inch thick. Flavor is really clean, with an amount of the complimentary aromas. A little too clean, somewhat sweeter than smooth or tart.

Pours a cloudy golden with thick white head. Aroma of citrus, banana, clove, yeast, malts, great balance and full aroma for the abv. Similar taste, very crisp and enjoyable. A good hefe is hard to find, it this one found me tonight!

Nice pillowy white head and pretty thick. Very dark gold in color. Deep and dark for a hefe. Notes of wheat, banana, and apple. Pretty good, but hefe’s still aren’t my thing.

Pours a slightly hazy amber body with an off-white head. Aromas of yeast, clove, hint of zest. Flavors of yeast, some banana, clove, little tart. Finish has clove, tart, dry. A long time after the swallow, flavor of bran flakes.

[On tap at Oakford Social Club, Reading] Cloudy deep gold with a negligible head and a slight but prickly fizz. From the off, cloves are the dominant flavour. Some foam banana sweets and fake lemon come through, but the sweetness of these is balanced out by the bitterness of the cloves. More cloves in the finish. It’s a little one dimensional, but it feels good in the mouth and goes down very nicely. Overall it’s a decent enough beer as long as you like cloves, which fortunately I do!
