Jan 18, 2005 Had this one on tap at the Barrelhouse as usual. It is a very good stout with all those lovely chocolate and coffee overtones in both the aroma and the flavor. The appearance is that of pitch with a slight head. The finish is nice without all the burnt lingerings of so many other stouts.

Jun 3, 2004 On tap at Barrel House. Poured with a deep cocoa body, topped by a medium tan head. Fruit, caramel, and a touch of roast make up the aroma. Flavor is much in the same vein, with dry roasted malt, caramel, and somewhat sweet dark fruit. Very creamy, smooth palate. A solid, rich stout.

Apr 17, 2004 Draft - Medium coffe and chocolate aroma. Black color with large tan frothy head. Medium coffee, roasted malt and touch of chocolate.

Mar 7, 2004 Draft - very nice! Black as night with a light brown head of tiny, tiny bubbles. Very roasty, chocolatey nose. Big, rich, roasty flavor with loads of coffee.

Jan 2, 2004 Opaque black color, no head. Roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and sour lactose aroma. Sweet, sour and roasty with chocolate, lactose, smoked wood, and slightly vanilla flavors. Medium thick feel.

Jan 2, 2004 Deep black color (opaque) with no head. The aroma was very strong with roasted coffee beans, slight smoked wood, slight black licorice, dark chocolate. The flavor was quite sweet with a prominant roasty character...coffee, chocolate, slight lactic sourness in the finish. Slightly watery feel...not thin though...with a semi-dry finish.

Dec 31, 2003 thanks to hopsrus for this one's. It's a very easy drinking stout. Nice chocolate taste. very enjoyable
