UPDATED: JUN 12, 2023 Can. Poured a hazy gold with a small white head. Aromas of grapefruit, pine resin and light orange zest. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of grapefruit, pine and a hint of orange zest with a smooth bitter finish.

ClarkVV (13401) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 19, 2022
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2022 Draught at Rudy's New Haven, 5/29/22. Light haze. Coppery-brass. White head falls off instantly. Citra hops rise up juicily with plentiful honey and a hint of caramel and sourdough from the malt. Clean, amply acidic but not too much so. Soft, playful, fruity yeast. No booze. IPAs have definitely caught up to this so it's not quite as special as back in the day (though still very good). But this was way, way, way ahead of it's time and still goes toe to toe with any IPA out there. Glad to finally find the damned thing. Malty and soft, good attenuation, solidly bitter but juicy and fruity enough to please the NEIPA crowd too. A few extra points here for its innovation for its time.

tfontana (5554) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 20, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2019 Can pour into nonic pint glass. Appearance is deeply hazy yellow-light brown with trace carbonation, 2-finger off-white foamy head with decent retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong citrus and more moderate tropical fruit, hint of earthy herb. Taste is dank wet grass, more muted citrus. Palate is medium side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste with lingering danky bitterness. Overall, I'm not sure this is really a NEIPA. Their website doesn't classify it as such and, though the look and aroma are consistent with it, the taste does not. And, they were making this long before NEIPA became a thing. That being said, aroma is tropical, citrusy elements that doesn't translate to the taste (where I'd want it to be). Tastes like a good, but fairly standard, old school IPA.

GDTRFB (8948) - Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 4, 2019
UPDATED: MAY 4, 2019 Pours hazy gold into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention recedes to hug rim. Hot caramel, toasted marshmallow and passion fruit aromas. Soft with sweet passion fruit and pineapple upfront turning to mild pith in the lasting finish.
