BlackHaddock (15433) - The County Time Forgot, Shropshire, ENGLAND - OCT 23, 2022
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2022 Keg pint in the Dawley Social Club on 22nd October 2022, can't believe I've never rated this beer before. Clean amber look, white head. Slightly sweet aroma and taste, some caramel like flavours in there somewhere. Not unpleasant and really pleased I checked to see if I'd rated it in the past.

culchiem (6191) - IRELAND - AUG 20, 2022
UPDATED: AUG 20, 2022 Draught in a pub beside Bramell Lane. Orange caramel with a full head. Aroma of toffee and caramel. Flavour is smooth bitter, easy drinker.

PellicleScout54 (69) - West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - OCT 8, 2021
UPDATED: OCT 8, 2021 Poured from 440ml can at 3.7% abv. Aroma: Sweet and bready, some toffee and honey, light grains and hops. Appearance: Clear beer with a thick white head, golden but a little darker than average lager for example. Quite high carbonation, large head. Taste: Biscuit/cracker grains, little bit of fruitiness and English pale ale hops. Little zest, mild bittersweet finish. Easy drinking but not too bland. Mouthfeel: Completely average, light to medium body with fizzy carbonation. Maybe a bit oily. Overall: Decent standard bitter if you're in the market for a lower strength session beer with a bit more bite than its nitrogenated counterparts.

UPDATED: JUN 13, 2020 A classic. A bitter that pours lightly and has a grainy almost metallic zest which is sharp on the pallet. Always a good option.

alexmate (630) - South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 19, 2019
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2019 Pours amber, thin white head. Taste is quite sweet with a barley sugar taste, light bitterness possibly EKG hops, some bready flavours. Pretty good, but not the beer it once was.

440ml can from ASDA. Golden amber colour, white foam head and aroma of malt, grain, metallic. Taste is malty, grainy, sweetish with some grassy metallic bitterness. Light bodied, soft carbonation, dry cardboardy bitter finish. OK.

I remembered this beer fondly as one of the very first I went into a kiosk in the UK and bought when I was old enough. Well, that is where the fondness stops. Drinking it now I think it is simply dreadful. Pours a dark golden colour with a one finger head. Bready and yeasty smells, bit of sulfur. Taste bread, sweet bread, watery, some bitterness, but it is bland and weak. Just, terrible.

Not a memorable beer but a pleasant refreshing bitter ale. It's outlasted many similar type ales so I guess it's fairly popular in its Yorkshire heartland.
