Pours black, no head retention. Aroma i balanced roasty, bourbon, creamy. Taste is balanced and complex, very smooth.

At the Barleywine event. Aroma is booze, barrel, roasted malt, licorice, sweet, coffee, good. Appearance is dark dark brown, light tan head, poured thickish. Taste is licorice, bourbon, barrel, roasted malt, booze, good. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy body, light carbonation, sweet booze and barrel aftertaste. Overall, it’s a poor man’s Bourbon County. I dig.

Shared with friends. Served alongside Bell’s 9000. Dark brown body with a small beige head. Aromas of toffee, molasses, bourbon, caramel malt. Super tasty. Yes, sir! Lovely flavor. Boozy in the best way. A superb beverage.

Delicious, but a little too sweet and boozy for my tastes (and I like sweet and boozy stouts).

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2015 Tap at hop cat, Aroma is bourbon and chocolate, the taste really explodes on this chocolate, cherry, molasses, bourbon and oak blend together beautifully. .. wow

Bottle. Black pour with tan head. Dark roasted, spice, fruit, perhaps licorice aromas. Chocolate, roasted, licorice, some booze and bourbon flavors.

Bottle. Pours dark brown tan head. Nose and taste of bourbon, chocolate, alcohol soaked licorice and oak - full body.

Bottle - Nice barrel notes, coconut and chocolate notes. Jet brown with a decent beige head. Chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and a long cocoa finish. Rich and very nice.

From notes. Tasted on 3/16/13 from a corked and caged 750mL bottle at our epic Bottleworks tasting with Curtis, Jedi, and crews from Knoxville and Nashville. Pours super dark brown with an average brown head that leaves thin lace. The nose is classic, very good barrel aged imperial stout with plenty of roast, coconut, vanilla, bourbon, maple, tons of caramel, and dark chocolate. The flavor is dominated by the oak and bourbon, a bit hot, with the dark chocolate malt and coffee bitterness balancing all of the sweet vanilla, maple, and caramel. The body is massive and creamy with just under average carbonation and a long bourbon barrel finish.
