Aroma is of light notes of dark fruit, brown sugar, light caramel and earthy resinous hops. Taste is brown sugar, light caramel and toffee, light medicinal notes and dark fruit. Alcohol is well hidden and body is creamingly smooth with light carbonation. Petrucci914 (631), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 25, 2010 Pours a reddish-mahogany color with a medium off-white head which fades rather quickly. Aroma is light resinous hops, dark fruit, brown sugar, and caramel malts. Taste was quite medicinal, caramel malts, and brown sugar. Very different taste than most Barley Wines, but the mouthfeel was there but a bit too medicinal. WisconsinBeer (567), St Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours a very hazy deep brown color with minimal head. Seems that the Viking beers are still somewhat under carbonated. Flavor is rich and sweet, slightly resinous and milk chocolate along with roasted malts. Very sweet with a slight hops presence and alcohol burn at the finish. Medium to full bodied. Overall not a bad effort. EHopper (356), Minnesota, USA

red shade of mahogany brown with an off white/tan ring for a head.
very floral initial aroma is followed by malt, vanilla, cooked yellow peaches, brown sugar and a touch of spiciness.
the flavor is peachy, grainy and much the same as the aroma with just a slight bitter touch on the finish.
medium bodied and easy enough to drink a lot of without it getting sticky. no way it’s 12%. 6/4/6/4/13/3.3 IlanMan (893), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA

Pours dark brown with a tan head. Nose is sweet but small. Taste is sweet and rich and much better than I had expected. Additionally it is so smooth for 12% this bottle is at least 2 years old.
