(ITA) AMA è il progetto birrario dal respiro internazionale firmato Birra Amarcord. Nasce da un incontro oltreoceano, a New York, con il brewmaster di Brooklyn Brewery Garrett Oliver e il designer di fama internazionale Milton Glaser, l'uomo che, tra le altre cose, ha inventato il logo I Iove NY. Un trittico di birre eleganti, profumate e ricche di personalità, pensate per la ristorazione ma a loro agio anche al banco di un pub, dal nome che non è una semplice contrazione di Amarcord ma soprattutto un messaggio d'amore per la terra di Romagna. E per le buone birre che nascono qui! /// Ama Mora, Imperial Coffee Porter: Un blend selezionato di caffè regala complessità e profondità a questa birra scura, dalla schiuma compatta. Al naso, oltre alla nota del caffè, il bouquet è molto ampio e affascinante. Al gusto note di cioccolato, frutta secca e liquirizia la rendono pressoché indimenticabile. /// - Schiuma nocciola, densa e persistente. - Birra color tonaca di frate, l'aspetto, indovinandolo nelle pieghe della sua cromia caliginosa, è tra il velato e il torbido. - Lieve carbonatazione, corpo intenso e sostenuto. - Potente la sua intensità olfattiva e straordinaria la finezza olfattiva amplificata dall'alta fermentazione. - Leggeri sentori vegetali di legumi precludono a un impatto eclatante con il tipico e torrefatto del caffè, accompagnato dal melassato zucchero di canna. - Ricordando l'impiego in caldaia di ingredienti selezionati locali ed esotici, quali il caffè Pascucci di Rimini e il pregiato zucchero di canna Demerara proveniente dal Malawi (uno degli Stati africani più meridionali), sveliamo il sorprendente mix di ingredienti, radice della sua decisa e inconfondibile caratterizzazione. - In bocca oltre al cappuccino si distinguono il caffè zuccherato, le note del torrefatto e quelle carezzevoli del lattosio. Nel finale tenui note di vaniglia ingentiliscono ulteriormente una birra che vive del delicato e splendido bilanciamento tra note dolci e note amare (28 IBU), tra toni caldi e toni tostati. - Al retrolfatto emergono lunghe note di caffè, cereale tostato che avviano ad un finale sorprendentemente fresco e dissetante avvolto nelle note della liquirizia e amabilmente secco, da luppolatura ed alcol. \\\\\\ (ENG) AMA is a transatlantic brewing project that carries the signature of Amarcord Beer, with its origins in a meeting in New York with Garrett Oliver, the Brooklyn Brewery brewmaster, and the internationally famous designer Milton Glaser, amongst other things the inventor of the "I love NY" logo. /// Ama Mora, Imperial Coffee Porter: A selected blend of choice coffees gives complexity and depth to the dark beer with a compact creamy head. Coffee notes in the bouquet, which is particularly broad and fascinating. Hints of chocolate in the mouth, together with nuts and liquorice for an unforgettable experience. /// - Hazelnut foam, dense, creamy and persistent. - Dark brown color. - Mild carbonation, body intense and sustained. - Powerful its olfactory intensity and extraordinary olfactory finesse amplified by the special ingredients used: powerful scents of roasted coffee, accompanied by molassed sugar cane. We use a special selection of Pascucci’s coffee and the precious Demerara cane sugar from Malawi (one of the most southern African States), that gives Ama Mora an extraordinary aroma. - In the mouth cappuccino’s flavour, extremely long taste of sweet coffee, roasted notes. In the final subtle notes of vanilla equilibrated with the freshness of liquorice. - Aftertaste full of coffee’s aroma, roasted malt wrapped in the notes of cool licorice, pleasantly dryness comes from the hops and the roast malt and obviously from the alcohol.

UPDATED: MAR 3, 2022 From the Bottle at GBBF 2012, Kensington Olympia 07/08/2012 Big coffee aroma. Black a little rich on the palate fruity and hoppy with a hint of dryness in a bitter malt finish.

Fairly rich, sweet roasty body - almost sugary with the coffee notes played down somewhat. Pehaps a dose of vanilla too. The coffee comes out a bit like chili - without the bite. UPDATED: NOV 14, 2020 Bottle from Systembolaget. I thought this beer was absolutely fantastic. The aroma was not that noticeable. Nice mahogany. The taste was sublime, a kind of creamy milk coffee drink with a really satisfying ending. One of those beers to get excited about as it was just so damn classy. I was amazed that the ending was so clean given the abv.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2020 Bottle 355ml. Looks like a Coke, thin fizzy beige head on a dark brown liquid. Some roasted notes in the aroma, otherwise a bit like broth. Taste is a bit acidic with light bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is way too thin and watery - I would expect a thick and oily palate at this abv. Nah...

The finish is bitter and roasted.
