33cl bottle. this one with a red label santa hugging a raindeer. from netto. pours brown with a light brown head, settles quite dark almost black. bready caramelly buttery malty sweetish aroma. flavor is sweet malts, slightly roasted malts, brown sugar, dark caramel. the slight roastedness is real nice, also keeps being roasted into aftertaste where the roast balances the sweetness. first time i noticed this in a "nisseøl" and i like it.

Pitchblack with a delicious, light brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and a bit of sweetness. The flavour is sweetish, but not nearly as sweet as many Hvidtøl. It has notes of roasted malt and a hint of smoke and licorise. Actually I’m quite impressed by this one, and IMO it’s one of the better from Harboe! 1900

Bottle. Large brown thick and creamy head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Very dark color with a light reddish glow. Aroma of liquorish, toasted malt, hint of leather or smoke, dusty grain and light buttery notes as well. Over the palate sweet brown sugar, light smoke and hint of fruit. Actually this is one of the better hvidtøl I have had. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Flavor was more balanced then hvidtøl usually are with the classic moderated to heavy sweetness but also some counter bitterness which was a first time for me to find in a hvidtøl. Finish was moderated sweet and malty with a hint of bitterness at the very end. Quit nice.

Bottle, bought @ Netto, Kolding. Pours a pretty dark brown with a medium, but rather fizzy beige head. Aroma is very sweet caramel with roasted tones behind it. Watery palate. Flavour is very sweet, lots of artificial caramel, some potato (?) and sugar, sugar, sugar. Yuk. 3/3/2/2/4 = 1.4

New rating: [Christmas "Hvidtøl" Blind-tasting, Christmas 2009, beer #2]
Pours rather dark with a fine, creamy, beige head. Light smokey aroma, sweet, caramel, some liqourice. A bit thin. Flavour has liqourice, softly roasted and a hint of smoke.
