UPDATED: SEP 24, 2020 On tap at the brewery. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of light fruits, peppers, bready malt. Flavor of peppers, peppery heat, bready malt, crackers. Light heat in the finish. Not super hot but plenty of peppery character. Nice. 6/4/8/4/15 (3.7/5)

A- A hazy straw yellow, 1 finger head of foam, some lacing S- Light notes of wheat, citrus, peppers. T- Light grain flavour with a nice malt presence, hints of citrus, chili peppers start off slowly but man, mid palate on it gets big and after the swallow, there’s heaps of heat. The warming in my tummy is very soothing. M- On the high end of light bodied, low but adequate carbonation. O- This is a very good chili ale that actually BRINGS the chili taste and heat that a lot of others only promise. Yum! 04-14-2013

On draft at the brewery. The beer is pale yellow with a mild haze and a small white head. Wheat and cracked pepper in the aroma. Heat really emerges in the flavor, with chili powder and hot pepper. Surprisingly drinkable for a chili beer. Wheat and light citrus up front, then a blast of chili heat. Thin body with light carbonation. A four ounce sample was plenty.

On tap at the FoCo location. Pale gold and pretty clear appearance with a white head and light lacing. Nice blend of peppers, moderate spice, just the right amount of heat. Light to medium body, crisp mouth feel. Pretty easy to drink.

On tap @ the new location in downtown Fort Collins. Pours a but hazy yellow appearance with little lasting head. Aroma direct have a ton going on though there is a bit of toast and Lennon. Nice pepper flavor. Mild heat. Little veggie flavor. Probably wouldn’t be bad for a pint but besides the peppers, it’s otherwise kind of boring.

Pour on tap at the brewery, clear orange-red pour with thin white head, aroma brings big veggie, chili notes, slight spice, caramel and toffee in there but the chili kind of dominates this one. Taste is a mix of chilis with a hint of green pepper/veggie, slight caramel, toffee in there, touch of spice, finishing fairly spicy, sweet.

Pint poured right outside the brewery from their truck. First, I am shocked to see favorable reviews of a pepper beer. Most other delicious pepper beers get low marks from pansies who erroneously find them to be too spicy. This is particular one is derserving of praise. Chili is fresh and spicy in the aroma. Malts are clean and nondescript, giving a mild sweetness for balance. There is enough heat to tingle my palate and lips, but nothing crazy. The chili flavor is genuine, giving it a nice fruity, pleasantly vegetal quality. Really quaffable stuff on a warm night.
