Full body and flavor, without apparent alcohol, but still has a certain kick to it. My bottle was about 14 months past the best before date- but it still kicks ass. There was nothing bad about it despite the old age- in fact the age may have made the flavors even better. Very smooth and drinkable, with so much complexity. Dark color and nice head. Very spicy, with some coriander, and finishes off with a nice port/wine taste.

Dark brown pour with a lovely, fluffy off-white head on it that retains for a while. Has a strong yeasty nose on it that is loaded with fruit. It has some tropical mango and guava in there as well as dark sticky dried fruits, plus a whiff of spice. The flavor has a bit of roast and nuttiness to it, a little earth, and is loaded with those same fruit notes. Finishes with spicy coriander, maybe even some nutmeg, and yet more fruit. Very drinkable with a pleasant amount of carbonation. I think I’m falling in love with Unibroue’s yeast. smithjay (8), USA does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 9, 2010 looks & acts like coca cola, with continuous carbonation.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 28, 2010 75cl bottle. Pours dark, much like the noire de chambly. Actually, this was much like the chambly noire but stronger. I love the taste but even better the 9% alcohol does not over power the taste. Very nice. mkel07 (646), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 27, 2010 750ml bottle. Charcoal colour like burnt wood that is left in a fireplace. Lacing of fine bubbles around the rim with ripe fruit and clove aromas that dominate and make you anticipate the taste. Smooth and mellow given the high alcohol content. Worth sipping and savouring. cirtap (25), Florida, USA

Smooth taste of dark fruits with good complexity and some alcohol on the finish. A great beer you can find in most quality beer stores, I always have a few in the fridge. Sledutah (283), Utah, USA

Warm taste of berries and fruit, yet not sweet. Warm and strong enough to satisfy, Unibroue scores yet again with another excellent brew. Salute!!
