UPDATED: MAR 1, 2024 330 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with little head. Aromas of vinous oak, a little bourbon, raisins, dry caramel and toasted malts. Flavors of tobacco, vinous oak, dark fruit, and bread malts. Sharp though not hot.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2023 Mörkt rödbrun med ett litet skum. Doft av kola, körsbärsvin, lakrits och alkohol. Fyllig smak av kola, rött vin, körsbärskärnor, ekfat och värmande alkohol. Inte direkt en typisk barley wine, men god ändå.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2023 17 February 2023. At Rose Red, Bruges. Cheers to Anke, mom & dad! Hazy dark amber, small, off-white head. Aroma of date, candied plum, raisin, pear syrup, caramel, liqueur, green tea, sugared peanut, sweet cherry, cranberry sauce. Taste has very sweet cherry, date & raisin going into a thick malty profile of pear syrup, caramel & brioche, slightly herbal. Peppery & herbal hoppy finish, lending some bitterness against an ongoing sweetness of candied fruit, brown sugar, wet wood and warming liqueur-like alcohol. Full body, syrupy texture, average carbonation. Delightful dessert beer.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2022 Bottle pours chestnut with a small tan head. Aroma is big dark fruits, toffee, spice cake, Belgian yeast. Flavor starts promising, medium sweet booze soaked date and prune with toffee, but then it yields to a bitter and metallic finish that’s not the best. Medium full and smooth. Almost great but unfortunately flawed.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2021 On tap at Taplokaal Gist. Dark brown with beige head. Caramel, dried fruit, very smooth. Very smooth with bitterish finish. Meeium bodied.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2021 Very complex beer. Has the classic barley wine taste. Brewed with both blond and dark beers blended and then fermented with wine yeast. Aged in fresh oak barrels. Malty with a nice sweetness. Low carbonation which is nice. Great beer.
