Jan 31, 2010 THOUGHTS: Fairly Christmasy. Just enough spice to make it interesting. Spices weren’t overdone. Fairly British malt wise, but it had very american hops. Nice blend of US and UK. Nice, easy drinking, winter ale.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium amber with an average, off-white head that mostly diminished, but left excellent lacing. The aroma was moderate to heavy, molasses and caramel malts; light to moderate grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime hops; toffee, light spices, a little fruitiness and sort of butterscotch. The initial flavor was moderately to rather sweet, bitter and lightly acidic; while the finish was sweet and lightly bitter. There was caramel, toffee, nutty malt, slight dark, toasted bread, citrus hops, light to medium spices as it warms and a little yeast. The medium body was a little syrupy and then rather dry with lightly fizzy carbonation and a chalky, dry and lightly astringent finish.

Jan 30, 2010 Reddish brown in color. Nice light head. Smells like a winter ale. Tastes like a winter ale. Very generic, but not in a bad way. Hits all of the marks right just doesn’t knock it out of the park. Not as heavily spiced or fruited as some winter ales. Very well balanced. Hard for me to give it a big score but very solid.

Jan 26, 2010 12oz bottle - pours a dark, clear copper color. Aroma of rich caramel malts and some floral and citrus hop. Flavor of solid hop grapefruit balanced by some barley malt with a faint grassy/floral finish and possibly some coriander?. This beer is very well balanced with a sharp bitterness.

Jan 21, 2010 Pours a dark amber. Aroma of chocolate, cinnamon, mint, nutmeg. Taste is slightly bitter with a sweetness to finish. Flavor of chocolate, molasses and spice. Quite good.

Jan 19, 2010 Great crispness to that’s clean and sharp. The hops in this one are so cleaaaannn. Lots of citrus and pine hops with an overload of caramel malt to balance this one into a nice full bodied winter warmer.

Jan 15, 2010 Dark amber off white creamy head lots of lacing not much aroma on nitro smells of nuts light citrus hops and sweet malt ... taste of caramel malt and nutty taste with some spice finished with a hoppy citrus finish very smooth and subtle could have had more flavor but was decent and balanced lacked flavor really
