on tap at the 2014 Bramwell Oktoberfest; black color; roasted malt aroma; great, smooth, roasted malt flavor on a fairly light malt base; the flavor of a porter, but on a much lighter bodied beer

4 oz. draft sample at B&D Gastropub. Pours black with large dark brown highlights and small off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, light body, low carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is nice cocoa and some roastyness. Good for my first Lost River Brew, I would have guessed a Schwartz beer for style.

On tap at the brewpub. Wonderful roasty aroma. (Lost River beers all fill the nose.) Taste is of roasted caramel malts, nutty toffee. Slightly under-hopped but still autumn in a glass. Strong beer.
