| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 18, 2007 Pours a darkish clean amber with a small white head. As soon as I poped the cap a angry little hop jumped out and smacked me in the nose. Well, not really but the massive hop aroma did give my nose a good thrashing. Huge bitter hops at first then it settles down a little and some citrus and floral notes come thru. Flavor is very bitter and dry. Just like me. The floral really comes out as it warms a tad. Big sticky lacing clinging for dear life on the sides of the glass. There is a hop still in the bottle and I can hear it saying. "they like me. they really like me" FirkinHopHead (26), Munster, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 17, 2007 On tap at The Firkin in Glen Elyn, IL. Pours a slightly hazy orange. The nose is of pine and citrus. Taste is dominated by bitter hops and the finish is huge. I wanted to like this more than I did. I love big hoppy brews, but this one left me wanting for more malt for balance and structure. The drinkabilty isn’t here like it is in Three Floyd’s Alpha King. Good, but not great. browner (34), Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, USA

Almost a perfume aroma with an IPA bitter finish Explodes with hops...a real winner. The Micro brew pub has a 6 sampler of different recipes of the Hatter and if you’re in Holland try the Black on tap. Fabulous! LinusStick (1927), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jan 12, 2007 I LOVED this IPA! This is a new brewer to me and I must try their other selections based on this increditble beer! Thie aroma was a strong floral hop. The pour was a hazy orange with a decent lacing off white head. The taste was all sweet malt in the beginning, then gave way to a massive hop bitterness that finished through to the end. This hatter sure is mad and he makes an awesome beer! A must have for hops lovers! lovemyipas (450), sw burbs, Illinois, USA
