Clear orange/amber color. Light ecru head. Sweet floral aroma with a dry caramel and toasted floor malt quality. Quite sweet. Nougat, marzipan, and light alcohol. Nutty bitterness in the finish. A strong amber. 6/13

Pours a clear dark golden orange color with apricot edges and a one finger, frothy white head that slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Pretty good retention with streaks of soapy lacing left behind. Grassy, spicy and slightly herbal hop aroma with a sweet malt backbone and subtle booziness. There’s an odd caraway/sunflower seed presence as well but it’s complimented by the sweeter malt notes. Bready, biscuit-like presence along with toffee, caramel and biscuit. There’s a strange perfume, slightl adjunct like character that I can’t really put my finger on but overall the aroma has a decent balance of earthy hops and sweet malt notes. On the lighter end of medium body with a bitter grassy hop presence up front that’s countered by a very sweet malt backbone and an unpleasant metallic adjunct like character that lingers long into the finish. This sweet adjunct flavor was evident in the nose but is much stronger here and really hurts the flavor of the beer. I’m not sure if it’s just in my head but there is a sweet corn or rice flavor that is really sweet, overtaking over the hops and interesting malt notes. There’s a touch of boozy heat in the finish but the high ABV is nicely masked. Not harsh per se but the hop flavors are muted and the off flavors make it tough to finish a small serving.

Flaske 355ml spandert av Rune. Delt på Nerstranda 27 Okt 15. Mørk gyldenbrun. Veldig lavt skum. Søt fruktaroma. Myk munnfølelse. Preg av barleywine. Litt mandler i smaken med en anelse sherry. Svakt syrlig avslutning. Blir vel søt etter hvert.

355ml bottle picked up at Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo a few years ago. Pours a next to clear amber coloured body. Filmy layer, fragile lacing. Brittle caramel and herbal hops on the nose. Blended taste profile of grassy hops, dried fruit and brown malts. Warming finish with a malt-fruity touch. Fine bodied. Good drinking (shared with Finn, Tromsø 27.10.2015).

Ambar, anaranjada. Bonito color. Apenas espuma, insignificante. Aroma a tierra. En boca bien de gas, con sólida base malteada, y rica textura, que e principio tiene predominio lupulado, seco y amargo que prolonga el aroma y pronto evoluciona a un tono muy acaramelado, que perdura... y pide otro trago. Los lúpulos acercan a IPAs americanas, pero es bastante más malteada y menos lupulada. Está bastante rica la verdad

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance: It has a light orange amber colored body with a light haze. The head is just off white in color and hangs on well. As I sip it makes lots of cool lacing on the glass. Smell: The aroma has a good bready base with a balanced orange citrusy hop presence. Taste / Palate: The flavor matches the aroma. It has a solid bready malt base with notes of orange marmalade and citrusy hop bitterness.

Pour on tap at All Pints North, clear orange-red pour with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, some earthy, yeasty notes into a bit of grass, some pine into a bit of orange. Taste was a mix of orange, grain, slight grapefruit, hints of caramel, toffee, lots of spice, hints of grass, finishing slightly bitter.

Bottle from hop hideout, sheffield. Clear amber ale, off white head. Aroma is pine resin, hops and hops and malts. Taste is rich woody bitterness. Slight carbonation with a rather thick body. Lovely ale.

330 mml bottle tasted on the 18/10/2014. Clear golden colour with a medium off-white head. Aroma of yeast, fruity and malt. The taste is moderate sweet with floral and caramel notes. Good aftertaste and medium body. Next one please!

Transfer from BA review on 7-31-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours an orange-amber color with a one finger white-orange tinted head. The head is composed of big bubbly carbonation bubbles. It head fades slowly over time to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is quite sweet overall with lots of caramel and a sweet corn syrup smell. Along with these aromas are some smells of bread and a bit of hop, mainly of a hay/grassy nature. Taste – The taste begins sweet and bready with lots of biscuit and bready malt flavors mixed with caramel and a bunch of adjunct corn sweetness. Although the taste loses a little bit of its sweetness toward the end of the taste, it is still very sweet overall. While the sweetness lessens in strength ever so lightly, the breadiness gains more strength. Toward the end some hop flavors of a citrus and earthy nature come to the tongue, leaving a very lightly hopped, sweet and bready flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is quite thick and creamy with a carbonation level that is on the more average to slightly lighter side. The thick body is quite nice for all the bready and lighter hop flavors of the brew making for a mouth coating feel and really allowing these flavors to linger and be sensed. While very nice for the bready flavors, the thicker body is a little too much for the sweeter corn flavors in the brew making this flavor a bit too overpowering. Overall – Sorta like a thicker and creamier malt liquor with a bit more hop than normal. Like a high end malt liquor. Not too bad if that is what you are in the mood for actually.
