Bottle at Yespr’s - murky brown pour with thin off-white head. Strong smoked malty aroma and taste, nutty, some vegetable and herbal notes in this.

Thanks Gabriel! Pours a deep black/brown with a thick tan head. The nose is an earthy smokey peaty concoction. The taste is licorice, smoke, brown sugar, earth ending dry. Medium body and silky smooth with great carbonation. Great stuff.

Bottle from P&M Getränke in Bonn. Black in the glass with w white to beige head. Nice strong smokey nose, like the "Schwarzgeräuchertes" at the butcher. The beer starts very dry and great smokey. Slightly hints of sourness in the background (probably due to the highly smoked malt) that harmonise great with the dry maltyness and the tons of smoke. The aftertaste is long, lots of smoke, dry malt, roasted hints. Great beer!

UPDATED: NOV 17, 2013 Bottle 0.33l from P&M Bonn. Pours almost black with a solid beige head. Medium to low carbonation and lots of sediment. Aroma is smoke, dried fruit, slightly sour. Taste is smokey, roasted coffee, prunes, sour. Okay smoked beer. Smoke could be more present. Too sour for my taste.

Small bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, dark, almost black, nice head. Fine malty-smokey aroma. Starts intense malty, smokey-roasty, notes of bacon. Finish less smokey, still fine malty, some earthy notes. A good one!

Draft. Black beer with a big dark cream head. Big smoke aroma. Smoke and rich malt flavor with light caramel. Medium bodied. Smoke and rich malt lingers with light toffee.
