Thin, fast fading, white head came and went before I took my first sip. Aromas are of Cascade hops, with their classic grapefruit and resinous, piney aromas. Peppery yeast bite in the aroma as well as the taste. No malt aromas. The malts struggle to keep up with the hops in this beer from the word go. Over-hopped and unbalanced taste, at least to me. The hops simply overwhelm any chance the malts ever had. Good thing I only bought a 6-pack of it.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 20, 2010 I think I’ve found one of my repeat spring/summer IPA’s for 2010. Speakeasy’s beers can be hit or miss, but this one hit’s near the center of my tastebuds target and that’s a good thing. Aroma is juicy hops, full of grapefruity goodness with just a pinch of alcohol. Flavor is just an awesome balance of clean grapefruit hops, a lean caramel malt foundation with bit of a spicy/earthy finish. Mouthfeel is velvety smooth and the body/head is spot on for an IPA. And I’m giving it an extra point based on the price $7.99 a sixer!! Thank you Speakeasy! acearl (224), J-Town, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 5, 2010 Bottle served in a tulip. I’ve tasted this before with fond memories. This time I’ll rate it properly. Pours clear honey-wheat orange with a medium-large fluffy, off-white head. Decent lacing and retention. Aroma is light floral hops with a hint of sweetness. Medium-light body, a little creamy, decenty carbonation, and watery texture. Clean, dry, bitter finish. Solid, but I remember this being better. Maverick34 (766), New York, USA
