GABF 2007: Listed as Media, PA location. Poured a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma was decent with some barrel, vanilla and lightly sweet roasted malt. the bourbon in the flavor ran from front to back but didn’t overpower. Vanilla, sweet and malty.

20100104 Nitro tap at Newark location. I don’t recall the regular porter that well to realize the difference between the two, or what the barrel aging might have done to the beer beyond flavor/aroma, but this stuff is pretty thin and somewhat slick, my only knock on it, really, and the nitro doesn’t help. Otherwise, it’s a nice application of whiskey barrel with lots of vanilla to compliment the dark fruitiness of the malts. Very successful especially considering the low ABV.

11th October 2008. GABF. Clear dark brown. Light palate and a light porter - the bourbon us well blended in to the flavour profile.

Nitro at Iron Hill Phoenixville. Highly enjoyed this dark porter. Heavy bourbon aroma at the nose. Velvety smooth and creamy on the palate with hints of vanilla through out. This one was a winner in my mind.

Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, bourbon, coffee, and chocolate. Taste matches the aroma-bourbon (not too much of a bite), roasted malts, and vanilla. Creamy feel on the palate.

Nitro at IH Media. Dark brown, just clear at the edges, with a creamy beige head completely coating on the way down. Nose is dough and coffee with hints of chocolate. Silky mouthfeel as expected with a mild tingle. Taste is bourbon and cocoa with a dry coffee finish. Lingering grass and citrus peel. Retains the sweetness of the bourbon without the bite.

Nitro at IH Phoenixville: Aroma of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, and malts. Poured dark brown/deep deep amber in color with a medium-sized, dense, creamy, off-white/beige head that diminished but lasted throughout. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, malts, light caramel, and light coffee. Medium body. Smooth, creamy texture. Nitro carbonation. Lightly sweet, creamy, chocolate finish is very smooth. Extremely drinkable.

On nitro tap @ Wilmington location. Poured a deep red almost black its so dark with not a lot of tan head. Aroma was not strong with some roasted malt, coffee, and bourbon. Taste was chocolate, coffee, caramel, vanilla, and wood, with a slight bourbon alcohol taste. This beer was very smooth and easy to drink. A nice brew.
