Very light, somewhat faint, sweet, malty aroma. Malty, sweet, hoppy flavors. Pretty basic, but well-balanced. Not bad. A decent offering from a Japanese macro. Sammys (428), Portland, Maine, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 1, 2001 While this didn’t look very promising, the malt and hop aroma were much more defined that I had expected. Had a full flavored (for the style) malty taste, slight hop bitterness afterwards, but the malt was definately in front the whole time. Very pleasant aftertaste. This is among the better examples of the style I’ve had. cazort (424), Newark, Delaware, USA

This tastes more like a typical German Dortmunder/Helles, except without the richness of the malt. There are a lot of hops and the hops have a German character to them...good, somewhat metallic, but not unpleasant. Moderately bitter; much more bitter than is typical for something called a "pale lager". The main thing lacking about this beer is that it is extremely thin, to the point of being very watery. Still, it’s a perfectly drinkable beer. There is no unpleasant sweetness the way there is in most pale lagers. Davhgbrew (418), Boca Raton, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2002 This is the most drinkable japanese beer I’ve ever had. Well balanced, nothing overwhelming, and I could get shitty drinkin it with sushi...that’s a plus. As Daninorlando says it is definitely not a stout and for 100% malt not extremely malty. tenghave (402), Taastrup, Denmark

Kedelig øl med normal kulsyre, som dog er god til at slukke tørsten med eller drikke sig fuld i.
Ikke særlig humlet eller bitter.
Hvis der er andre muligheder at vælge i mellem ville jeg aldrig vælge denne. Poperinge (359), Cowtown, Alberta, Canada

I understand this is a Japanese standard and by that standard it blows the major Canadian beers out of the water. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 26, 2008 Straw yellow color with moderate big- bubble, transient, white head. Sweet malty aroma of corn/grain and some hops. Taste is similar with a fairly dry and bitter finish for a macro. Thankfully, it is without adjunct off flavors.
