330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. ABV is 7.1%. Very dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. Huge beige head that lasts "forever". Aroma of brettanomyces / farmhouse and red wine, hints of chocolate. Fairly smooth and moderately roasty flavour with notes of chocolate and mild coffee, also brett notes, but not really sour. Pleasant to drink.

12/11/11/11/10/11

Brett aroma. Some acidity at first that gives way to spicy. Interesting for those who like this type of beer

En botella hace más de un año y estaba mala. Terminó en el desagüe. La probaré nuevamente en un futuro.

Bottle (330 ml). Best before April 2014, so one year past the BB date (it has been in my cellar for too long). From kbudd19, thanks!

Appearance: Dark brown with a huge frothy tan head and good lacing.

Aroma: Aroma is of brettanomyces, roasted malt, cocoa powder, berries, ashes and dust.

Taste: Light sweetness. Berries, brettanomyces, dusty cocoa powder presence, ashes, roasted malt and mineral notes. Less brettanomyces than in the aroma and a tad too much ashes.

Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Dusty mouthfeel. A tad vinous too. Long lasting ashy finish. Almost harsh.

Overall: Enticing aroma along decent taste and subpar mouthfeel. If they could get rid of the weird finish (or maybe it’s just that I waited to long to open the bottle), it would be a really good dark sour. Very good drinkability despite the finish and the rather high abv. Interesting.

Bottle. Dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma is bretty, funky with leather, roasted malt, tart citrus fruits in taste with mild coffee, wood, hops. Faint chocolate towards the finish, leaving a crisp sweet/sour vinous aftertaste.

5/VII/14 - 33cl bottle from Bierkompass (webshop, DE) @ train from Gent to Mechelen - BB: V/2014 ? Or was it bottled then? #2342 (2014-769) Thanks to Travlr for sharing today’s beers!

Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy beige head, adhesive, stable. Aroma: very soapy, funky, bit sour, lemony, vinous touch. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of coffee, bitter, roasted, bit sourish, malty, some caramel, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: pretty roasted, sour touch, red wine, bitter, very hoppy, alcohol burn.

Bottle courtesy of tderoeck, thank you sir! hazy dark brown color, huge brown head. Aroma of slightly funky coffee grounds. Taste is dusty cocoa. Hmmm.

12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out lots of brett, followed by roast and cocoa. Flavour is very smooth, bringing out notes of roast and espresso, followed by brett and more roast. Quite complex, with the brett well-situated. Very nice stuff.

DuffMan (10981) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 22, 2014
Bottle. Lively pour resulting in a massive tan head atop a near-black body. Funky and black and bitter, with notes of sweet hay, dried-out dusty old wood, light cheese, with just a hint of vinegar-- all within a robust dark malt profile. Kind of all over the place, but so tasty I don’t really care!
