COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The inspiration for this beer’s name—previously, La Maitresse du Moine—is the beer itself. Its deep, intense flavors inspired the concept of a monk that seeks solace and satisfaction from the sensory pleasure and mind-provoking effects of this liquid temptress.

Mesmerizing Monk’s Mistress seduces your senses at first sip. Its daunting beauty and intriguing flavor fully captivate your attention. Belgian yeast adds character and complexity. We invite you to give in to this little bit of “heaven on earth”.

While Monk’s Mistress Special Dark Ale accompanies a wide variety of dishes, it is also a lovely and engaging beer to keep you company.

Submit. Surrender. Succumb.

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2020 Very nicely done. Subtle and excellent. Florals and tobacco. Dark plum. Maroon pour with good head and lacing. Nice balance. Great stuff. Took a while of wanting before I had a taste but this is good. Light sweet finish. Bottle.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2019 22 oz bottle poured. Thanks, Wyatt! Alaska beer night! A treat to try such a praised belgain strong from these guys. A dense, jet black pour, moderate tan foam head. Aroma is more modest than expected, dark fruit, raisin/plum, soft spices. Flavor has plenty of the same dark fruit, paired with spices, and just a hint of chocolate. Lingering plum and raisin spice that sticks around forever in the palate. Smooth enough for a strong. Well put together, and wonderfully complex. Love it.

This is a very fine BSA. Cinnamon, spice, cocoa, and Belgian yeast. Come together in a complex empassioned way. Nice.

Bottle from Ben's. Poured into a snifter. A deep ruby brown with huge light tan head. Earthy-spice aromas and flavors with notes of brown sugar and plums. On the sweet side but not too much so.

From notes. Had this one at a get together at Erik’s house for the AFC/NFC Championship games on January 21. 22 oz bottle. The pour is a nice darker garnet tinted brown color with a thick light tan head that slowly falls down to a dense cap with a couple spots of lace. The aroma is pretty good. There is a strong Belgian yeast right up front with a darker fruitiness and a bit of sweet malt happening. This one is intense. There is a bit of oxidation on the front of the nose, and it does come off a little cardboard-y. The flavor is much of the same. The fruits are light and sweet with a nice yeastiness and a strong bit of sweet malt after that. The oxidation exists here as well. The mouth feel is medium bodied and softly carbonated with a sweet fruitiness and a pretty good yeasty finish. Not too shabby. 7 4 7 4 15

Too sweet. Much prefer a tripel. The beer is. Not bad, but the sugar is just too much.

Bomber from Alaska Liquor Store, Skagway. Nose is candi sugar, black raisins, and a hint of banana ester. Clear dark brown with a medium, lightly lacing, tan head. Flavor is moderately sweet with a white peppery note, dark fruit, and hints of cloves and char. Very nice.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark red/mahogany with full head. Aromas of candi sugar, sweet dark malts, and metallic Belgian yeast. Rich flavors follow same - sweet and thick with a little spice. Right on...
