unclefrito62 (2774) - Stow, Ohio, USA - JAN 13, 201812 ounce bottle at home. Smells some what fruity Light white head. Light yellow with bubbles of carbonation. Really can taste the peppercorns. Smooth. Different and above average for the style. Cheers!
FROTHINGSLOSH (15634) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 30, 2017Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy bright yellow color with a medium sized soapy white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was tangy, sweet and fruity with a black pepper note. The flavor was dominated by strong black pepper followed by faint vague fruits and cracker. Long pepper finish. Medium body. Meh.
JStax (10650) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - DEC 31, 201612 ounce bottle labled as just "Nicie". The beer is a clear yellow with a white head of foam. Good head retention. The aroma has notes of moderate skunky notes with hints of peppercorn, dried grass, and orange peel. A bit of pith. Taste has dry, floral aspects. Fairly bitter. Medium body and medium to high carbonation.
nuplastikk (9841) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 7, 201612oz bottle. Nicie. Pale yellow-tan body. Not much of ahead, looks like a soda. Medium bodied, thin, mild. Kind an undesirable play on an undesirable style. The peppercorns don’t add much, I mostly get coriander and orange peel. Bland malt tones, not a lot going on. Unimpressive.
cheap (8841) - Land of Taxes, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 14, 2016My bottle does not say spicie, just nicie. Has the by line, tho. $2 @ vintage. Hay yellow color. Smells a tad metallic. Very good soda water like carbonation, zesty. Actually, this comes across like a highly carbonated wheat ale. Becomes a little medicinal in the middle. In the end it finishes a little better than many bitter wheat ales.
Block (3330) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - OCT 9, 2016Backlog entry: This beer doesn’t stick out in any particular way. Alighted with style, somewhat different with the spice.
drsordr (4557) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - AUG 25, 2016Bottle pour light gold with moderate white head that rapidly dissipate. Nose coriander, lemon peel, peppercorns, spruce. Taste very spicy up front almost like cleaner. Peppercorns, lemon, and fruity wheat.
smroush (540) - Michigan, USA - AUG 20, 2016Citrus aromas are present though not as prominent as you might think from the added lemon and orange zest. Coriander and pepper are clear though again not overwhelming. Not much malt, just a touch of biscuit.
Color is a pale yellow with a fairly good-sized white head.
Taste is peppery, with light to medium bitterness and fairly dry sweetness.
The palate is light bodied, just a bit thin, perhaps just slightly lively carbonation and a long finish that starts with just a light hint of sweetness and then goes into a long peppery finish.
Overall while it is not might favorite style, it’s not bad. The lemon/orange zest is restrained; the pepper and coriander start slow but come more to the fore and stay there as you continue to drink. Interesting.
wlajwl (12654) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - AUG 20, 2016Aroma spices/black peppercorns and wheat. The flavor is orange zest, mild coriander, wheat and a citrus/spicy finish.
Msdrbeat (785) - East Lansing, USA - AUG 19, 2016On tap at Hopcat. Pours cloudy pale. Low aroma. Getting orange and overwhelming malt character. Good wheat beer.
