An almost black pour with a slight tan head and gooey lacing. A flavor of chocoffeeish roasted malt. A dry start that transistions to a semi sweet background flaor and a nice bitter. A smooth even textured palate that spreads across and is neither slick nor thin. Carbonation was good as well. An overall very good beer. thanks craig garmonbozia (260), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

Smell is sweet sweet chocolate. Taste is very interesting. Vanilla, chocolate and malt. Taste is also sweet at first but turns to a dry finish. I like this alot. Thanks for the growler Craig. It pours deep dark darkness with a tan head. The aroma is roasty and burnt malts with some sort of oatmeal-ish twang in there too. I also get some nice chocolate malt notes. The taste is rich and roasty and sweet bordering on luxurious. I get burnt malts, chocolate malts and roasted malts. I love the rich mouth feel. Very nice brew. Thanks wetherel. Average creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma of toasted malt, chocolate, coffee, berries. Over the palate came roasted malt, bitter cold coffee and dark chocolate. Hint of liquorish and faint hoppy feel. Full bodied with a soft carbonation and alcoholic texture. Moderated to heavy sweet flavor with good counter bitterness. Roasted malt and liquorish lingering finish.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 26, 2009 Growler. Pours nearly black as night with a very firm dark khaki head. Nice. Aroma or roasted chocolate malt, a touch of espresso, bittersweet chocolate. Some leather and earthy hops. Light notes of anise and charred wood as well. Flavor is quite nice. Well roasted malt, chocolate, char. Slightly bitter hops. i like this one because the malt is perfectly roasted... not bringing out the astringent and bitter overly roasted malt. Medium to full bodied with a slightly bitter malt finish. A very well done Imperial. Thanks Craig! pantanap (1480), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Pours very dark with no head. Aroma is of very complex roastiness and not much else. Taste is velvety with a nice level of roast. Tasty, but not terribly complex. A little sweet and roasty, but doesn’t have the taste complexity to cover-up/backup. Overall nice beer. Suck it Dark Lord. dolemike1 (1167), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA
