Bottle 75cl kindly given by Quack-Duck. A cloudy brown beer without head, nose is lemony and grapefruit like ! Aroma is sour, lot of grapefruit, lactic profile, yeast notes, not clean, is that wanted or infected ? Body is sweet, green apple and lemon notes, no relation at all to a weizenbock. Finish is astringent and sour.

(bottle, 75cl, thanks to Quack-Duck) Hazy, deep amber to brown colour with a short and tanned foamy layer. Slightly toasted malty aroma with almost vinous fruity notes of citrus, tangerine, fruit-confit, accompanied by caramel and chocolate. Sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a well-matured carbonation. Smooth dark malt character with shades of wheat, fruit confit, nutty spots. As well as traces of chocolate and honey; lingering and balanced sweet-bitter, slightly vinous fruity finish with a warming alcoholic strength. Very rounded Weizenbock/Old Ale hybrid. 12.II.14

Bottle: (Diky, pane profesoře!): Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, small and stable off-white foamy head, dried fruits, sweet red wine and honey in the nose; moderate to solid sweet-sourish flavour, accompanied by a delicate tartness, full bodied; traces of nuts and old wine in the sweet fruity and "woody" finish. Superb and complex stuff…

Big thanks to quack-duck for that interesting bottle. Looks really, really good. Beer in the glass darker than exspected, nice head. Malty sourish aroma. Starts quite strong, malty, only light yeasty notes. Quite sourish background with some hints of chocolate. Also some fruity-berry hints. Finish less malty, more sourish. Finish a bit earthy-woody. Very interesting beer.

(bottle) pours a murky brownish-amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of heavy clove, some cinnamon, cheesecake, beef jerkey and peaches. flavour is mostly the same, with a peachy sweetness, vanilla, chestnuts, honey and some alcohol. heavy-bodied with average carbonation.

0.75l champagne bottle, corked. Deep brown, almost black, hazy-murky, fluffy beige head. Chocolatey-soirush nose. Full-bodied, no traces of alcohol flavours. Malty with hints of chocolate, ripe fruit (peach), with a shy fruity sourness reminding me of wild French farmhouse vieille brune beers.

3.2
Bov (14982) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - SEP 17, 2013
from Mondial de la Bière 2013, Mulhouse - clear brown beer without head; nutty and chewy malty nose, walnuts; pretty sweet, full-bodied, grainy and long warming alcohol finish with residual sugars, caramel and nuts - pretty raw
