hauxe (3999) - Butzbach, GERMANY - MAR 4, 2018Pours dark brown from the can. Crown is frothy, sudsy, and subsides slowly. Aroma is a mix of roasted grains and soft chocolate notes. Taste is sweet, full of toffee and chocolate. Finishes with a very light hops bite. Body is medium, but to the lighter side. Carbonation is mild. Overall, nothing too exciting, but a still a solid and pleasant candidate for everyday sipping.

Taste is sweet and rich malt up front - again chocolate and coffee - with an increasingly complex malt finish and hops notes subtly emerging at the very end. An excellent porter.
