Commercial Description:
"It’s hard to believe we’ve been slingin’ pizzas for 20 years since March of 1987! That’s about 7300 days or 175,200 happy hours of fun! We’re excited to celebreate by brewing and bottling up a beer to share a special toast! Swami’s IPA is one of our best selling beers. Many have called it the original San Diego IPA. As such, it’s been a big part of Pizza Port Solana Beach since we installed the brewing system in 1992. A bold IPA hopped to the extreme with galena, Centennial and Cascade hops. We also add a healthy dose of dry hops in the serving tank and always serve it unfiltered. Thank you so much to everyone who has been sharing the memories along the unbelievable way...Cheers!"

Poured a hazy orange color, lots of carbonation, plenty of hops, some malt there as well, abit fruity, grapefruit, lemon.Easily drinkable, good brew, but abit over priced for a 750 caged bottle at Pizza Port Solana Beach. Would drink on tap for sure!

On tap at Solana location. Nice citrus aroma with flavors of mango, pineapple and guava. Great beer, very easy to drink. I should have got my growler filled with it.

Growler from Solana that I’ve been sitting on for 6 days. Creamy medium orange with a fluffy two finger yellowish white head, great retention. Citrus hops up front with a little bit of sweat and floral notes behind. Just a hint of caramel malt noted. The flavor adds some fresh pine hops, and the malts are still pretty weak. Earthy bitterness peaked at a 6-7--pretty damn bitter--and lingered quite a while. Medium body with light to moderate carbonation. A good enough IPA that I would be happy to drink on a regular basis, but it isn’t a must-try before you die.

On Tap at Pizza Port. Pours cloudy, golden/orange. Has a slight hop nose, but a little weak. Taste is dry, bitter hops. Just ok.

16 oz shaker pint at Pizza Port Solana Beach. Pour is slightly hazed copper golden, a bunch of carbonation and a 1/2 inch white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of fresh resin sweet citrus and pine hoppiness. A touch of toasty malt behind that. Taste is the nose, though with big resin graininess, more pine than citrus, toasty malt really comes through nice. Finish is dry and bitter. Palate is medium, thin, high carb, very bitter and drying in the finish. Super drinkable.

Draft at Solana Beach. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt, caramel, hops, and alfaacids. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, hops, grass, and alfaacids, leading to a dry, grassy, grapefruity, and very bitter finish.
