bwa5879 (1098) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - NOV 19, 2019UPDATED: NOV 19, 2019 Bold crisp golden orange pour slightly occluded with stable white head a half inch high. Aroma is mellow but balanced with blended hop scents of pine and citrus, lots of malt backbone. Soft carbonation, zesty but slightly thin mouthfeel, finishes crisp. Flavor is zesty with lots of pine along with metallics crisp biscuity malts.
blackflag321 (750) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 20, 2015Bottle to pint glass. Drinking this when MSU beat U-M! Lots of green on the palate. Zesty, complex. Wouldn’t drink this (or any wet-hop) regularly but definitely enjoy it on occasion.
Sammy (19120) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 5, 2015Bottle from Champane’s Cellars. I was getting lettuce above all, a tad of other vegetable including cabbage. Still drinkable and lighter mouthfeel. More hops, or they just had an older bottle.
JHeath99 (1680) - Warner Robins, Georgia, USA - DEC 1, 2015Bottle shared by Wayne. Slight hazy amber with minimal fizzy head. Pine, hops, nice malts.
koleminer20 (4594) - Wayne, Michigan, USA - NOV 5, 2015Shared at a bottle share, hosted by Mickey before the U-of-M game on October 10. Poured from a 12 oz bottle. The pour is a foggy golden yellow with a pretty solid (almost nitro looking) white head that falls down to a thin cap, leaving some awesome lacing behind. The aroma is surprisingly good. I didn’t know what to expect with this, but I’m surprised. There is a big citrus punch up front with lemon and orange, maybe a little bit of tropical fruit presence before the malts some in and it finishes with a nice bitter pine resin. The hops present are definitely dank and tropical. The flavor is much of the same. There is a strong citrus blast followed by a great malt profile and finishing up with a bitter, dank, tropical hop that is really good. The mouth feel is pretty light and crisp, which is what you want in a lager, with a nice level of carbonation and a lingeringly bitter piney resin mixed with dank tropical fruits. It’s damn good!
milewide (2704) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - OCT 29, 2015The most favorable lager that I have ever tasted!!! Hops are over the top! Brewed 10/2...drank 10/29.
rumproasts (6127) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - OCT 17, 2015bottle. deep golden with one finger head. resiny, dank hops with plenty of bitterness. just a hop bomb of pine, herbal and citrus flavors.
FlandersNed (396) - , Indiana, USA - OCT 14, 201512oz bottle. Lightly cloudy pale amber hue/large white froth. Dry hop & melted plastic nose. Dried hay, pine shavings & grapefruit zest taste with a big bready, tonic and earthy hit. Medium+ body and medium carbonation.
arminjewell (9756) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - OCT 12, 2015Pour on tap at Crunchy’s, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of grass, bread, lettuce? not really, some orange peel, hintsof spice, yeasty notes. Taste was a mix of lettuce, grass, spinach wraps, some some romaine notes, finishing with lots of herbal, grassy notes. More lettuce.
superspak (9599) - Greensboro, North Carolina, USA - OCT 8, 201512 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 10/2/2015. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of big lemon zest, tangerine, orange peel, peach, guava, pepper, spruce, pine, cracker, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity and balance of dank citrus/tropical/earthy hops and light pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big lemon zest, tangerine, orange peel, peach, guava, spruce, pepper, pine, cracker, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of piney/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, tangerine, orange peel, peach, guava, spruce, pepper, pine, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and robustness of big dank citrus/tropical/earthy hops and light pale malt flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance and some light lingering hop astringency after the finish; but not too bad. High amount of dryness after the finish from bitterness and minimal malt flavors. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and sticky/resinous mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice wet hopped IPL style. All around great complexity and robustness of dank citrus/tropical/earthy hops and light pale malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
