Courtesy of Philippe (Bov); bb 29.03.2018 Pitch black color, small head, a few big bubbles; thick. Nice aroma, roasted malts with a delicate woody and vanilla component. Strong body; round mouthfeel; strong flavor of roasted malt, dark caramel, with moderate residual sweetness; it has a bit too much liquorice for my taste, but also a light vanilla drop; correct bitterness level; warming alcohol. Very good; American take.
courtesy of the Aeschlimann’s brothers - pitch black with no foam left; aroma of whisky and prune; full-bodied, thick and sticky; hints of vanilla; some sweetness soon overwhelmed by a powerful bitterness; quite dry oily, chocolatey and coffeish finish with more notes of whisky, licorice and marzipan - beautiful
