Oakes (30614) - Richmond, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 30, 2023
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2023 Chestnut brown. Medium head. Ok this smells like a yeasty dunkel. Taste…some caramel, a but syrupy, definitely yeasty, some sugars and not actually that much pecan.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2019 (Tap at TCBW 2018, session 2 on Saturday) (6:3:7:3:13=3.2) Dark brown. The aroma is slightly roasted malts, a bit sweet. This has some hints of rye and a good toasty finish. If the vanilla is there, it's subtle, and the pecans aren't evident as anything apart from some dust in the finish. Unusually, Phil didn't have this.

Deep brown pour, nice light tan head. Aroma has just what the beer promises. Pecan pie, vanilla, toasted pecans, dark roasted malt. The flavor is bold and delicious. Pecan pies, pecans, roast, phenomenal.

Ibrew2or3 (10529) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JAN 7, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 7, 2019 Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a murky muddy brown colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up roasted malts, nuttiness (pecan maybe), lactose sugar and a thin hit of vanilla. The taste delivers smooth fairly rich roasted malts, malt sweetness and then a pleasing blend of nuttiness and vanilla. It picks up a bit more vanilla and a thin sweet molasses like note to midway. It ends with lingering malt sweetness, slightly roasted maltiness and some nut like goodness. Really nice adjunct brown.

Poured up on tap at Wilderness where it has a deep dark mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up smooth notes of dark roasted malts, chocolate malts, earthy chocolate and as it warmed a nuttiness comes to the surface. The taste has malt sweetened dark roasted malts, some nice chocolate notes and then hitting about midway is a mild nuttiness. It ends as the roasted malt notes and sweet nutty malts move forward creating a smooth finish.
