3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, deep dark mahogany with a fine head, light piney nose with a touch of grapefruit and caramel, palate is toasty with burnt citrus, dry bitterness, faint choc notes, nice balance. Perhaps more a Black Pale Ale than BIPA.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(50 cl bottle from Bradley’s Off-license, Cork; BBD: March 2015) Pours a hazy dark brown with creamy, tan head. Decent retention and nice lace. Aroma is kind of brown aleish with toasted malt and perhaps a slightly stronger hint of herbal hops. Oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation and a toasted finish. Flavour has some hop sodapop notes and also some toasted malt. It’s not really the best motivated attempt at a Black IPA that I ever experienced.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
The aroma hits you straight away..coffee and caramel. Its has a medium off white head, decent lacing.Tastes like it smells but more on the hoppy side.
Body wise it has a medium body with a thin but average carbonation feel.
Overall its a decent Black IPA, there are better out there.

Bottle. Appearance: Pitch black, thick brown head. Aroma: Hoppy, grapefruit with some medium maltiness too. Flavour: Grapefruit and floral hops, lots of malt in the mix too with a delightful bitter yet malty finish. Lovely.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Curiosa mezcla de tostada con ipa. Para mi gusto le falta carácter lupuloso pero la mezcla de cítricos y tueste en el final hace que merezca la pena probarla.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Dicey Reillys
Pitch black, big frothy tan head
Aroma of grapefruit, slight floral note, citrus hops, good hoppy nose, some soft roasted malts underneath
Taste of grapefruit, nice zesty hops, soft dark malt background, some dark cocoa, complex, good stouty background, really good BIPA
Palate - Soft carb. medium body, good bitter zesty hops with dark quite sweet dark malt. Finish as main flavour with some more bitter roast coming thorough
Overall - I like my Black IPAs to be stouty and this certainly is...I want this on tap and certainly cask if possible. Excellent flavour for the 5% abv as Black IPAs are usually stronger than this

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at home. Kind of strange to encounter the qualities of an IPA crossed with a porter / stout. Aroma is coffee and chocolate with roasty notes plus hoppy bitterness - taste ismedium bitterness. Poured black with white head. Probably need to try a few more just to get familiar with the style

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow, impressive. Black with red highlighted pour into the pint glass. Medium size off white head, nice lacing on the glass. Big hop aroma, grapefruit, floral, juicy. Hops smack you in the face, some blood and metal flavors(tastes better than it sounds). Roasted coffee beans, sharp cheddar, bitter dark chocolate. Finish is long, mouthfeel is medium to thin. Fantastic interpretation of the style.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A really good Cascadian Dark Ale (I refuse to say BIPA, makes no sense) from the lads in Cork.
