Sometimes you have to search pretty hard at the local Beer Store to find something interesting. Tankhouse has a great hop profile with some spice to the finish.

Huge fan of this beer, and locally brewed, what else can I say. Deep amber color, great aroma of hops and sweetness. Caramel both in the smell and definitely in the taste as well, along with malt. Bitter but refreshing finish, and goes down smooth. I’m a repeat buyer and continue to be happy with this beer! neuromatt (40), Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 26, 2010 11.5 oz bottle, served in a snifter. Pours a clear red-amber with a moderate tan head. Good lacing and head retention. Aroma is a complex mix of pale, caramel and toasted malts perfectly balanced against aromatic citrusy hops. Notes of bread, vanilla and nut. Malts are definitely the highlight here--a beautiful, complex mix. Medium in body with a slightly chewy texture. Flavour begins malty sweet and develops just the right amount of Cascade hop bitterness. Finish is long and bitter with some roasted malts. This is a truly excellent brew. Highly sessionable. Even better on tap. 2010-02-26 RC8 (122), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 24, 2010 A very good ale. A Canadian alternative to a British best bitter, so to speak. Simple flavour but very well assembled with a malty sweetness followed by flavourful hop bitterness. bmc123 (1), Ontario, Canada does not count | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 20, 2010 This beer has a rich hoppy flavor with a great finish. The aroma is malty similar to cereal and grassy hops. The taste is hoppy and bitter. It is smooth with normal carbonation and a bitter finish. Overall a very nice beer, enjoyable to drink. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 3, 2010 341ml bottle. Pours a dark amber with a minimal off-white head. This is going to sound weird, but there is a bit of dry dog food to the nose of this. Floral hops. Earthy. Cereal. Guess what? I like it. The taste is heavy on malt, bread crust, slight wood, and walnut. The finish is bitter with citrus hop. thorongil2 (101), , Ontario, Canada
