COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Brett Venture series is the exploration of how single strains of Brettanomyces ferment and condition a Saison malt bill. Each Brett Venture will be fermented in and aged in wine barrels with a different Brettanomyces strain to showcase its unique characteristics.

100% fermented with a brett strain from Cantillon, like Brett Project #1 (Brett Venture #1), but with lactobacillus added to the Chambourcin barrel, where it aged for six months. The result is similar to the lively characteristics of Brett Project #1, but with more acidity.

Stamp: 011013
01: Brett Venture #1
10: Bottling Month
13: Bottling Year

Please note that the Lactobacillus version is denoted with an L marked inside the Missouri stamp on the back label. The regular version is marked with a number 1.

ABC Roxy Benefit: Poured a murky yellow with a white head. Aroma is woodsy, funky wine like fruit. Taste is super funky, tart, spicy, citrus fruit. Zesty finish on the tongue.

Bottle, 2013, thanks to BeernBourbon! Pours clear pale golden, medium white head, dissipates fairly quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is oak, Brett funk, clean brett, musty, dusty. Flavor is light tart, light plus funk, lots of clean brett with a juicy, fruity note, dry and clean, a bit dusty. Light body, soft palate. Refined and enjoyable.

750ml, murky or yellow. Slight sour. White Wine. Grape, lemon, cherry. Less sour and more funk than I’m used to from side project.

750 mL bottle. Originally reviewed 2/24/2014. Hazy yellow orange body. Diminishes to nothing. Aroma is less winey than the Saison de Ble. Wine barrel. Oak. Not overtly bretty. Lemony and oaky. The taste is sharp lemon tartness up front. Grainy wheat. Oaky and a little bit of wine. Lingering tartness. Medium low carbonation. Pleasantly tart. Very similar to the Saison de Ble. This is less wine-forward, though.

Bottle thanks to Dustin. Pours a cloudy gold with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong stone fruit, pineapple, funk, oak. Thin mouth, tart, brett, oak, pineapple, light dry finish, very nice.

hopscotch (11919) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 2, 2015
Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours cloudy and straw-colored with a creamy, quickly dissipating, white head. The aroma is a funky intermingling of lactic and lemon acidity, bready yeast and damp oak. Light-bodied with stinging carbonation. The flavor is tart, bready and oaken with a tangy, raspy, lemon zest finish. Balanced nicely. Another world-class beer brewed by Perennial and shared by landhoney!

Bottle at RBWG. Cloudy yellow color, scant white head. Aroma of sour lemon yogurt. Taste is softly sour citrus. Very nice.

Hazy golden color with white head that dissipates quickly. Nose of citrus, lacto, brett, fruity. Tastes of pineapple, citrus, brett, lacto, hint of oak. Tart, but not overly acidic. Crisp and refreshing. Really fabulous. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma of light tartness/sourness, some pale malts, notes of light fruit, and hints of light notes of barrels. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average texture. A really good beer.
