ctipping (4084) - Florida, USA - JUL 29, 2016
500 mL growler of Nooner #4. Originally reviewed 11/25/2013. Black with some transparency at the edges. Decent khaki head. Nose is strong boozy bourbon. Some coffee and chocolate roasted malt. Really intense barrel. Bourbon is really intense in the taste, too. I understand that these are Chocolate Bourbon barrels from Pritchard’s, but I don’t get a ton of chocolate. Just a harsh bourbon and roasted malt. Boozy. Medium body. Medium carbonation. The barrel is intense. Too intense for me.

The taste has tons of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, some weak chalk, some weak roast and liquorice as well leading to a savory end. Big slick and awesome!

Pours dark brown with no head. The aroma has lots of chocolate, bourbon, smooth hefty roast and vanilla. It has a full rich body with almost no carbonation. The flavor has lots of chocolate, bourbon, molasses and heavy malt. The finish is on the alcoholic side. Pretty good.
