UPDATED: APR 10, 2023 Somethink special, rare and Old that oyster. Vintage 1999, bottle number: 03074. Poured into a Cantillon tasting glass and Lindemans gueuze glass.

davidezdonz (1900) - Hong Kong, HONG KONG - SEP 19, 2022
UPDATED: SEP 19, 2022 A 750ml corked and caged bottle, 1999 vintage, bottle no. 05590, with a notched best before date of December 2005. Poured into a 3 Fonteinen gueuze glass. It was a clear bright copper orange colour with no head and no lacing. Aromas tart, funky, barnyard, musty, damp wood, apple, citrus, orange, vinegar, with maybe some berry notes. Tastes tart, sour, apple, apple cider vinegar, mixed berries, lemon juice. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Overall this was interesting, and I probably want to say, past it’s prime, although unfortunately I don’t really have a reference point since this is the first one I’ve tried. But there was still some nice flavours going on. Worth a try, especially for those that enjoy gueuze like I do.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2020 Golden, slightly hazy, with a thin white head that dilapidates quickly. Muggy aroma, clear signs of fermentation. Stinging sour start, some mildly muggy flavours follow. Very good Gueuze.

anstei (3818) - SWITZERLAND - NOV 25, 2018
Bottle, courtesy of Mats, thanks! Vintage 1999. Pours unclear amber. Aroma is pure horse blanket, hay, soft berries, oxidized but not too much. Body is medium, strongly sour but not tart, low carbonation but not lacking. Complex, but not overdone, maybe a tad too old. Not dead, though. Good!

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2018 1999 bottle, many thanks Mats! Clear deep orange color with no head. Aroma is berries, vineous, parmeggiano, horseblanket. Taste is horseblanket, a bit of everything, vinegary, but not too much yet. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Held up well!
