Commercial Description:
This is our perennial summer seasonal beer, first brewed in Summer 1995 when we opened. Affectionately called "Spunky and Chunky", Old Whiskers Hefeweizen is a traditional Bavarian-style unfiltered wheat beer. Created with equal parts malted wheat and pale two-row malt, Old Whiskers is lightly hopped to style. A unique Bavarian strain of yeast imparts a clove- or banana-like aroma and flavor. (We swear we did not put cloves into the brew. It is the magical powers of The Yeast.) It’s the perfect summer quencher served with or without a slice of lemon.

Pours cloudy yellow into the glass with a small white head. Aroma is somewhat spicy, lacking the banana and clove but with a bit of citrus and bubble gum. Flavor is extremely quenching. Great session beer.

Bomber; pours bright gold with faint haze and trace white head; stale lemons, mild wheat aromas; flavors of a little clove, banana and lemony stale wheat; grainy texture with faint sourness; pretty simple overall and quite light on the wheat; smooth and drinkable

22 oz. bottle shared by shigadeyo. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. The nose is crisp, fruity, grassy, yeasty with a small amount of clove. The flavor has a fresh fruity lemon zest upon a toasted bready malt base. The finish is dry with mild spices. Medium bodied and average at best.

22oz bottle from brewery. Pours a milky golden with little to no head that disappears quickly. Wheaty banana, lemon, apple, cotton candy with some yeasty esters. Wheat, semi sweet banana...really kind of thin and not all that exciting.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured cloudy yellow color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate citrus, clove, yeast and banana aroma. Medium body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good beer.

Bottle thanks to americanbrew. The look is clear, golden in color, with not too much head. The smell is wheat, light, citrus, maybe a spice or two. The taste is grains, malts, wheat, yeast, and citrus.

Bottle thanks to americanbrew. Pours a faint murky yellow with white fizzy head. Aroma is fruity with some light wheat. Flavor of light wheat and light citrus. Mouth feel is watery with med-high carbonation. Overall, it’s tasty, it’s refreshing, not bad.
