Draft at the OF. Not 100% that this isn’t MBC Hefeweizen. Cloudy and unfiltered to style, minimal non head. Clovy sugary aroma, mild banana. Lots of banana in the flavor, almost overbearingly so. Low CO2, could have benefited from higher levels. The yeast really makes this beer, dominating the flavor profile. Mellow and unimpressive.

On draft at MAH. From the sounds of things, this beer seems to be a bit different this year. It pours the traditional very hazy yellow-orange rather than the brownish color noted in previous reviews. Aroma is banana, cloves, some citrus, and a little grass. Flavor follows suit and is sweet and slightly spicy in the finish. Mouthfeel is smooth with solid body. This is the most enjoyable beer I’ve had from MAH to date and I would say an above average hefe.

I’m always on the search for a good American Hefe, this wasn’t it however. Pours a slightly clouded golden colour with a faint wheat aroma. Grainy on the palate, i was a little dissapointed in this brew.

Poured a very strange cloudy orangish brown. Smelled of ripe bananas (banana bread?) and some spices, particularly cloves. I also detected a hint of cinnamon in the nose. The flavor was really understated and didn’t have the chemical taste I always notice in hefes. This beer was smooth, fruity, and completely refreshing. Not a "big" beer by any means, but very good for its style.

Lovely hazed and dirty brown sugared banana colored with a white glacial oil lining the top. Aroma is just about perfect. Sweet cream, lactic sourness, buttery bananas on grahams getting soggier by the second. Sweet, aromatic vanilla almond wholesomeness abounds in the nose. Full flavored treat greets us with vanilla tootsie rolls plucked out of a sea of lemongrass roots. Distinctive grass stains hang on the end of each sip. Sweet cream and banana butter are livened by cackled white pepper and sugar crunched cloves. Lively flare pricks up the tongue top and sides while a chewy sorghum oat mentality plays out. Lively and nearly concrete as its tossed and sloshed around the mouth. Margarine crust of sourdough and a hint of blanched rye give a slight bite to the herbaceous herbal hop edge in the finish.

Draft. Hazy orange-amber body - no head. Fruity wheat malt, orange rind aroma. Similar flaovr (fruity wheat, orange rind) ut with the addition of bubblegum sweetness. Good mouthfeel - substantial w/o being unrefreshingly thick. A well-done, tasty weiss.

Sampled last night at the MAH as the Session Ale. This beer is VERY much a non-filtered beer. It was an opaque yellow. VERY thick looking. Nice white head. The aroma was lemongrass, banana, light bubblegum, lemon. The flavor is wheaty, banana, lemon, buttery, sweet. This was pretty good for a wheat. The palate is pretty thick and rich. Given this was opaque, it had tons of wheat and/or yeast remnants...
