Comments: Easy-going, light-bodied ale with an hesitating hop bill, but well extracted malts.

Cask conditioned at The Bell & Crown, Canterbury. Brown amber with white head. Dry hopped with quite a burnt toffee flavour. A late bitterness with a rounded hop malt note. Reasonable.

Cask @ London Drinker 25: A dark tawny brown beer with nicely patterend lacings. Dust, chocolately malts all over the nose here. The chocolate is very apparent in the mouth too though slightly sweeter and with some acidic twinges that mellow it down to a damp coffee finish. Quite a light ale but with a good mouthfeel. I like this, it gives a good range of flavours and textures.

Cask, The Parrot, Canterbury. A decent bitter, not so different from the run of the mill that it sticks in my mind. Quite malty as I recall, with a noticably hoppy finish.

Nice hoppy aroma. Flavour is mainly malt with a strange but pleasant metallic edge, not sure why it’s pleasant, it just is. Biscuity and smooth with great mouthfeel. A top notch bitter.

Cask - The Unicorn, Canterbury. Mid brown with a fine white head. Good nutty, chocolate malts and dry hop aromas with lots of toffee. Toasty malt flavours, the nuttiness again comes through with a biscuity sweetness and a burnt malt and light hop bitterness. Nice mouthfeel, soft on the palate with low carbonation.

Gravity at the Pig’s Ear Beer festival 4/12/207. Amber coloured with a slight off-white head. Caramel malt and floral hop aroma. Flavour had plenty of malt, with a hint of cocoa powder before a decent bitter finish. Good.

Cask at the Samuel Peto (JDW), Folkestone. Chestnut with an off-white head; leafy hop aroma; straightforward hops and nutty malt with a rather mild finish. A very ordinary bitter.
